Defeated: Alcorn State (SWAC) Ark.-Pine Bluff (SWAC) California Baptist (WAC) Hampton (CAA) Marist (MAAC) Navy (Patriot) Northwestern (Big Ten) Texas Southern (SWAC) UMBC (America East) Are we counting non-D1 wins for this? Evansville is 0-9 against D1 competition. Their lone win is over University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras, technically NCAA D2 but it looks like their only match scheduled against NCAA competition was the one against Evansville. For all intents and purposes, Evansville is winless. Losses to Chicago State, 2 losses to Southern Indiana, and a loss to IU Indy has them still winless against D1 programs. Only possible wins I see are Indiana State (2x) or Illinois State on Nov 1 for Dia de los Muertos at home. Maybe a shot against Missouri St, UIC, Murray St, Belmont...but slim. |

What happened? 1st year 2018 2018 23-9, 13-3 2019 17-12, 11-5 2022 16-12, 11-5 2023 18-9, 9-7 2024 0-11, 0-2 so far This year, outsides are struggling at times, not enough service pressure overall, been running a 6-2, may be looking at switching one of the setters. Every match, one hitter that gets a lot of swings ends up around .000 or negative for the match. Each match it seems to be a different hitter. |

What happened? 1st year 2018 2018 23-9, 13-3 2019 17-12, 11-5 2022 16-12, 11-5 2023 18-9, 9-7 2024 0-11, 0-2 so far This year, outsides are struggling at times, not enough service pressure overall, been running a 6-2, may be looking at switching one of the setters. Every match, one hitter that gets a lot of swings ends up around .000 or negative for the match. Each match it seems to be a different hitter. Graduated 6 starters from last year, returned the libero and a RS/setter that had some playing time occasionally. Big drop off but I don't think anyone expected this.
To fill in, 2021 they were 13-14, 8-8 and made it to the conference semis. Covid year ('20-'21) 4-1 for what it's worth.
They'll probably find a win in conference soon - at army and at colgate this weekend is tough, even though it seems army is a bit down this year too. Holy Cross should be a win though right?

Marist lost to Canisius today, which means Tom Hanna defeated his former school with his new school, and his libero/daughter did the same.

I thought for sure that Denver was going to end the Jackrabbits' streak... but SDSU won in 4 sets!
This week they only play one match, vs 3-9 Kansas City in their home gym on Thursday. Next week they get Omaha at home, so that could be the end of it.
