Week of 09/30
1. Pittsburgh 2. Nebraska 3. Louisville 4. Creighton 5. Stanford 6. Penn State 7. Texas 8. Kansas 9. Wisconsin 10. Purdue 11. Minnesota 12. Kentucky 13. SMU 14. Arizona State 15. Oregon 16. Baylor 17. Auburn 18. TCU 19. Georgia Tech 20. Florida 21. Florida State 22. Southern California 23. BYU 24. Washington 25. Arkansas
Been on a two week hiatus, but since then have seen teams like Tennessee, Dayton, Miami-FL, etc come and go in the Top 25. I originally had Dayton in my Top 25, but overlooking their schedule, no significant wins and a loss to Marquette. I had to drop them out, which I didn’t want to.
Auburn vaulted in to my Top 25 after their win over Kentucky. That’s two wins over Top 15 opponents with just one loss. SMU is up there as well, they are the real deal, and to me, have a National Coach of The Year nominee there as well!
I like what Washington is doing as well. A sweep of Illinois is very nice, but can they keep it up?
Pitt is looking stronger and stronger. Nebraska seems to be finding their groove as well. This season of women’s NCAA volleyball has to be the greatest as far as competition across the country.

Go ahead. Roast me. 1 Pittsburgh 2 Nebraska 3 Penn State 4 Louisville 5 Creighton 6 Kansas 7 Stanford 8 Oregon 9 Texas 10 SMU 11 Florida State 12 Wisconsin 13 Arizona St 14 Purdue 15 Baylor 16 Georgia Tech 17 Minnesota 18 Auburn 19 TCU 20 Kentucky 21 Washington 22 USC 23 Florida 24 Dayton 25 Utah you're putting too much trust into FSU anywhere above 20 Agreed. But they've played a tougher schedule than some of the other two-loss teams and they just beat the same team twice in a row, which isn't easy no matter who you're playing. I'm sure they'll move down over the course of the ACC season, but this was the place I found for them for now.

2022 Texas was pretty close (after 1st week of conference play, 5 total sets lost with a tougher schedule) I raise you 2019 Baylor. They only dropped 2 sets in the first 16 matches of the season. Yeah, they were really good but not quite at Pitt's level imo. They also got destroyed in the 17th match. I think the answer is 2009 Penn State. They dropped two sets in their first 18 matches before Michigan finally forced them into a five-setter than Penn State of course won, as they ran the table again.

Clearly, the Pitt-Nebraska merger would be a terror-laden lineup. Fairbanks, Stafford, Kelley, Babcock, Murray, Jackson, Rodriguez would be my choice for starters. Somehow you'd want to work in Mauch as well but which 6ro pin is she DS'ing for? Then take the leftovers and put them across the net. That'd still be a hell of a match.

I feel like Washington has a decent case to be ranked a bit higher Sounds like a great time to beat Wisconsin this weekend. No. Just no. Well unless Julia Hunt has 20K, 15D, and 15B, then maybe.

I totally understand it’s a team sport and chemistry is important but could the argument be made that Nebraska is better at every position than Pittsburgh besides opposite? I would take Bri kelley over Allick Stafford over anyone (both outsides) Babcock over anyone (any option they have at opp) I would take VVG over Krause (not over landfair and Murray though) Fairbanks at this point over Bergen (but idk how Bergen would look with Pitt) Roddy is the only clear choice Pitt at this point destroys Nebraska Things may change come tournament time, but Pitt truly looks unbeatable right now what about Andiiiiiiiii Jackson (cue jingle)?

I did not mention murray or jackson cause they for sure would start. The roddy thing was mainly based on position but it was horrendous wording on my part lol
