Complaining about the other team making noise while you’re about to serve omg 😭😭 so petty

I heard some sounds when UW was serving. I thought it was coming from the fans in the visitor section. I also noticed sounds from the north end when WI was serving. It did not bother me as I've had to get used to 2 women doing a loud piercing whistle when the visitors serve. (I am not even that crude/rude.)

Maybe hard to notice on TV, but I was hearing a bunch of fans making noise when we were about to serve, and thought it was mildly annoying. Then in set 2, the sound was coming from the other end of the court, and it was the Oregon bench! I don’t think I’ve ever noticed another teams players ever do that. WTF?!?! There's nothing wrong with cheering on your team, including during the opponent's serve, during a match. It's part of the sport. Did you notice the hundreds of students screaming behind the Oregon players when they were serving? 😆 Don't you notice the coordinated cheers from the players frequently when their team scores? Creating pressure and distraction is part of the serving game. And when you're facing thousands of opposing fans, it's even more important to provide some sort of support for your teammates.

I hope our bench is above trying to pull that crap. It’s unsportsmanlike.
I expect the fans, notably the student sections, to be rowdy, both ours and the ones yelling at us when we’re on the road.

Cheers for your teammates when they score a point is fine. Shrieking suddenly and loudly just as an opponent serves is poor sportsmanship.

If volleyball wants to be a mainstream sport, then players and fans need to get used to noise, noise during serving, etc... You don't hear people complaining about noise at a basketball game during a free throw.

If that will be the new norm then someone did a horrible job teaching sportsmanship along the way with these kids/people.

If the opposing team's players are waving their hands or screaming during that free throw, they're probably getting a technical foul. Fans, yes. Opposing players, NO!

Followed the Ducks for a while. Never known them to do that before. If they were yelling to distract opposing servers that is a new thing.

During the first and third sets, the Oregon 'friends and family' was behind the Oregon bench relative to my seat. But during the second and fourth sets, there was no mistaking who it was coming from; the Oregon bench.

Once again, the upper midwesterners take it upon themselves to lecture others on matters of decorum.
I particularly love how they'll go on about enforcing matters of civility and manners and then go vote for Trump.

Not me bubs, and be careful that comment will scuttle this thread and put it in the dungeon along with Holiday where all other threads go to die.
By the way Midwesterner or not, political persuasion or not, man, woman, alien, animated, innanimate, whatever and however you want to attempt to characterize or label things it is NOT good sportsmanship.

Uh, just so you know, Biden won Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois, so please revisit that statement.
