Unfortunately, I'll be passing this year. I don't think I'll have the necessary time to do it right. Good luck to everyone, jeff1 is an idiot, and GO BRUINS!! #3peat The champ will not be back to defend his title. Work and family taking up any free time I have. Maybe next year. Alright. Thank you both for the quick response. Let's run it back in 2026.

posted in the Hawaii thread
UH and McKendree are the only two teams playing in week 0 as of now. Weeks 0/1 will be combined. I don't expect many teams out of the 30+ teams that have yet to release their schedule to have matches in the first week of January.

Maybe I missed the final summary but could you recap the rules for this year in terms of how points will be assigned? Thanks! wdym by points? Per set scoring? yes, likely (we voted on the rules via straw poll last year so I'm looking to do that again. Look out for a private message later on. bruinsgold will post the official thread soon. Strawpoll will have the following: Scoring: I expect per set to win fairly easily 1. Per set 2. Per match Roster Breakdown Option A: 1 SETTER 3 PINS 2 MIDDLES 2 OF ANY Option B: 2 SETTERS 3 PINS 2 MIDDLES 1 OF ANY Option C: 2 SETTERS 2 PINS 2 MIDDLES 2 OF ANY Conference conditions (minimum of 1 athlete per conference/s) MIVA MPSF EIVA BIG WEST CC ------ NEC OR SIAC INDEPENDENT OR ECC OR NEC/SIAC/INDEPENDENT/ECC Libero: Yes, but not required (will only be assigned to any position in your lineup) No Add/Drops: 8 9 10 Did I miss something?

Cool, I like the "per set" scoring system. What about the point categories? Like sets, attacks, serves, blocks (1xassist, 2xsolos), digs?

I am in! I remember having ideas/suggestions that may make it more interesting but I can't remember what those were. I think I might have sent in a post or DM... I will look. Can we hold players year to year like the real teams? Asking for a friend... nothing to do with holding onto Henno I do remember there was a lot of heartbreak related to obscure coaching decisions to bench some players inconsistently or play them in very limited roles that made it hard to compete. e.g. chaplin/knight at libero or bench an established starter due to injury or something unknown but use him as a serving or blocking sub for one set or even worse, multiple sets in a week. If there was a rule that protected from this it would be nice. Also maybe add something to quantify setters other than only apg, like team hitting %; metric could be apg x team % x 4 so any % above .250 inflates stat and under .250 deflates it A penalty for errors for players so the player that has 2 SA with 12 SE is not the same who has 2 SA with 2 SE. Applies to attacks too. I like per game stats, but count a 5th set as .6 games to balance out and not be a penalty for 5 game matches. I don't like per match stats because whether a match goes 3 or 5 is too much of a dice roll I like the idea of balancing those weeks where you would beat everyone else but the person you faced, I had a few of those for and against me. The undeserved win might have been more fun than the undeserved lose was painful so either way is good with me. I liked the format last year even though at the end it seemed like some got better draws than others due to the format. It was fun for me. All you other suggestions look good to me. Thanks for putting in the work. No holding onto players! This is why trades before the draft could come into play. I'm also thinking about tweaking it a little to look something similar to what a real fantasy league trade would look like. Of course, a 1ST RD pick vs a 3RD ROUND PICK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE. This would suffice wilbur #1 OVERALL 1st RD Pick #60 OVERALL 4th RD Pick vs Timeless #8 OVERALL 1st RD Pick #38 OVERALL 3RD RD Pick Serving subs will be dealt with so you don't have to worry about that. Interesting ideas on assists per set/service aces to errors and counterbalancing 5th set matches. The men's game revolves around the serving game so I don't think it will work out unfortunately. I vaguely remember Paul Stommel having a low assist count bc Saint Francis had 30 service errors in a four-set match!

I don't like mens volleyball BUTTTTTT I'll play, if you still need people. Well, we're sitting at 15 right now including you. I fully expect at least one person to drop out before the draft starts.
