Just out of curiosity, are there any players playing DS this year while a younger player gets the nod at L? Texas has for two seasons. Halter is the Libero and is a junior. Akana is a DS and a 5th year senior. |

Truly, im not even being shady about it
Texas has more top ten talent on their bench, and COMING in from this freshman class alone than hawaii has ever had. I understand they lose alot this, year, and i KNOW elliot will use the portal, but they are truly one of the LAST teams who needs to use it

I understand they lose alot this, year, and i KNOW elliot will use the portal, but they are truly one of the LAST teams who needs to use it Im not saying Elliot is above using the portal when he already has a stacked roster, but I think we may be safe from his usual portal malpractice this year. AVW & Spears are game changing recruits on the outside. I also can’t think of a school with three better options @ OPP between Lauenstein/Devin/ Gaido. Ames/Singletary/Bunton/Harvey are all insanely good middles. I just don’t see where a transfer would fit in unless there’s an exodus of players transferring out? |

I love our players/recruits, but who of our team can consistently pass well when targeted? Nor are any of our pins coming in with passing prowess. Maybe Kahahawai, but she hasn’t been in the formation enough to see that.
I think that is a need Elliott will look to fill.

y’all are insane if you don’t think JE would go after a 6ro outside in the portal when we lose Jenna, Madi, and Rutherford lol. now if one good enough for texas enters that’s also interested in Texas, plus needing our own players to transfer out to create the space is the question. I could easily see some combo of Miller, Byrd, Helmers, Tomkinson leaving, plus even a player like Bunton or hell even Swindle.

I would hope that current players on the roster still see themselves as viable options to fill the needed roles. Remains to be seen if a 6 rotation pin of that caliber even enters the portal. |

She was forced to medically retire by the university and was cleared by medical staff outside of Baylor to play elsewhere. I reread her post and she is entering in December. Medical retirements and what medical staff will approve varies from school to school in all sports. It's not necessarily negative that the first school wouldn't clear a player. Sometimes it's the second school that shouldn't have. Some schools can also be more risk-averse because of tragedies that happened when a player was allowed to compete. Another school may not have had a tragedy yet, so they're not as cautious. It really varies. Interestingly, Baylor’s men’s basketball won the 2021 national championship with a player who ended up at Baylor after not getting cleared by Alabama because of a heart condition. |
