Oof down ref really shouldn’t be making a net violation call when the ball hits through the net. Onabanjo with three rough errors in a row

Just tuned in but I'm really liking the student announcers...
They seem to know what they're talking about.

But too much lack of knowledge on calls is annoying by the play by play guy. Analyst knows her stuff - but a LOT of talking.

KU wins the second set 25-20.
First time seeing ASU and second time watching KU.
No real opinions yet...

Best Game of the week. I know Nebraska and Oregon match up, but these two squads are carbon copies of each other. Both lost their leading scorer from last season (Cooper/Levinska) Both have two senior undersized outsides (Bien/Elnady and Cyr/Cromartie…Bien and Cyr are literally the same person) Both have breakout senior middles (Onabanjo/Jeter) Both have scrappy liberos (Burns/Shroll) Both have great senior setters (Turner/Ung) If you look up and down Big12 volleyball stats you see these two squads side by side a top the exact same categories. This includes hitting percentage, assists, kills, and opponents hitting percentage among others. This will be a back and forth match between two veteran, elite squads. Arizona State is the home team so that gives them an advantage. While Kansas played a tougher non conference schedule, Arizona State has played the tougher Big12 schedule. One advantage Kansas has is in blocking. Kansas leads the Big12 in bps while Arizona state falls at 13th. Since Kansas inserted Reese Pateck in the middle, she has really helped increase the blocking for Kansas. Both Kansas’ middles average over a block per set. Kansas needs its block to show up. Kansas usually struggles against for physical teams with good blocking. Well Arizona State isn’t the most physical team. Two similar teams, you have to use your advantage. Once again serve and pass will win or lose this game. Both of these teams pass very well. However, Arizona state leads the Big12 in aces while Kansas is more middle of the pack. Both teams need their offenses to be effective, neither really has that junk ball hitter thats gonna get a bunch of high balls. They need to control the serve and pass. For Kansas, London Davis has to be difference. In big games like this she needs to come through for Kansas. When she’s hot it opens up Kansas’ whole offense. Im excited for this game! These teams are very similar (as you have pointed out). In addition, Kansas players are so low key/calm on the court - and ASU is even more so. But there is one major difference between these teams that showed up in set 2. Kansas has a superior bench. And that is big when both teams are struggling to score.

Can't we just have quiet time between sets?

Turner 9 digs and 5 blocks - best overall defensive performance from a setter. Kansas needs to get more from the middles. Onabanjo stepped up a bit in the 2nd set - and she is essential.
