#6 Wisconsin vs. #16 Minnesota | Wednesday, November 20, 2024 - 8 PM Central | UW Field House - Madison, Wisconsin |
Follow Along🎟 SeatGeek 🎟📺 BTN 📺📊 StatBroadcast 📊🎧 100.5 FM ESPN Madison 🎧The first electric hearing aid was invented in 1898 by Miller Reese Hutchison. Expanding on the design of the telephone, this device used an electric current to amplify weak signals. In 1913, the Siemens company of Germany began producing commercially manufactured hearing aids, but they were heavy and bulky, about the size of a cigar box, and designed to sit on a tabletop. A decade later, vacuum tube hearing aids became commercially available, and the devices shrunk in size and weight such that they could be worn in a harness. Still, they weighed 7-10 pounds. Hearing aids in the 1980s had an electronics pack that had to be carried, usually in a harness worn around the waist or on the chest.Today's hearing aids are significantly smaller and lighter, but that technology comes at a cost in the thousands of dollars. Children's hearing aids are even more expensive, averaging $2500-$6000. As any parent will tell you, kids outgrow everything, and that includes hearing aids. Most children need theirs replaced every 2-4 years. To add insult to injury, hearing aids are often not covered by insurance, leaving families to bear that high out-of-pocket cost themselves. I grumble when Little Rainbow needs new shoes, but that's nothing compared to this. Modern hearing aids are much smaller and lighter-weight, but very expensive. In honor of the Deaf and hard of hearing community, tonight's match features a Silent Set - no audible cheering until the Badgers score their 9th point. Limited-edition Silent Set t-shirts are available in Bucky's Locker Room, with proceeds going to the Chasing Greatness Foundation. Started by Penn State Volleyball alumna Jonni Parker, the Chasing Greatness Foundation helps families defray the cost of hearing aids for Deaf and hard of hearing children, and provides those kids with athletic and academic opportunities.

The Gophers want to start the NCAAs at home There's only one realistic way to accomplish that goal Shaff is going to have a career-defining assist-capade The team will feed off their common desire to excel
I hope for a classic B1G border battle and that WI saves their best for Neb

Unfortunately for the Gophers, serving GG 60 balls isn't likely to be an option again

I wouldn't bet on it. Sheffield is still a mad scientist.

Unfortunately for the Gophers, serving GG 60 balls isn't likely to be an option again We shall see on Lola's health. Really hope Saige is at Libero if so. UCLA did go after Saige early and she looked shaky at the start, but then she locked it down to the point the UCLA started avoiding her.

Fingers crossed she the starting libero, I highly doubt Lola will be back so soon. If that’s that case I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Everything with the new back-row will be much more fluid after a few days of practice.

Everything with the new back-row will be much more fluid after a few days of practice. What happened to Lola? She was hit in the face by a ball during serving warmups last week, during the Wisconsin vs. UCLA match. Her nose was bleeding :/ she sat on the sidelines with sunglasses on. Unsure where she stands with diagnosis. Badgers fans aren’t sure what to expect - but assume Saige will be the libero for the Minny rematch. GG’s status is also unknown as she’s battling a back injury. Maile Chan played DS for the first time. Saige and Maile, were shaky at first but with practice this week I expect it to be more fluid.

Wucherer or no Wucherer? Just last week unavailable for Nebraska then played front row against Michigan. Nagging injuries suck. Must be so frustrating to be day to day but just wanting to compete. Idk what kind of back injury she is dealing with but I hope the hotel bed is to her liking

Oh rough. I wouldn’t be too concerned. MN has had struggles the last few weeks and WI seems to be peaking. Badgers in 3 unfortunately.
