Just curious as to what the coaching salaries are for the 16 teams still in the tournament. If you have any idea on what these coaches are making, I think it would be interesting to see the range in salaries. My guess is that Hawaii, Penn State, Washington, and Wisconsin are toward the top.

I think those schools are probably the right ones to have near the top... if I had to guess, I'd say Hawaii and PSU both make over 100,000 as a base salary. I think UW's coach is just under that.
Regardless, a large chunk of non-base salary for almost all top coaches comes from slapping their name on summer volleyball camps and showing up at a few of the sessions. If you have a successful camp (or series of camps), I'd imagine you could make $30-50,000 as a head coach.

www.thehawaiichannel.com/news/2454395/detail.htmlWomen's volleyball head Coach Dave Shoji is paid $95,000 with just $6,000 in potential bonuses. Other coaches said Shoji is underpaid when you consider that he's led the women's volleyball team to four national championships in a program that makes money. "I think if you compare it to other top-flight volleyball coaches throughout the country, I'll bet you that he's in the top 10 or 15 in the country in that regard," Frazier said. --------------- I think he should be at least in the top 5 for what he's done for the program and the UH athletic department.

If you remember last year Jim was being courted for both the Mens and Womens National Team coach, just at the time his contract expired. Good timing. He got a substantial bump in pay to return to UDub. That was one of the smartest things Todd Turner has done as UW Athletic Director <g>.
Even though he is a state employee and it should be public, i have never seen a confirmed salary figure. The speculation at the time was $120K to $150K.

If the Wahine wins the championship, look for another raise for Shoji.

Cindy's last year which I believe was 2003 she made $133K and her hubby made just under $51K. Not a bad household income
Other coaching salaries in washington that I found are although not related to the final 16 for this year are $58.5K at Eastern and about $43K at Western
