Uh, can someone bring me a beverage? I'm feeling a mite parched here, but really, really comfortable otherwise.
And a pillow. That's all I need. A beverage and a pillow. And my rifle. A beverage, a pillow, and my rifle. That's all I need.
And some pants. Pants would be nice.

Courtney Thompson.
It's nice when you can be a total "homer" and have the stats to back it up. ;D

Courtney's Defensive game was really impressive over the weekend. She could be a top rate libero too.

Thompson, but Moriarty should be in the poll. If there are ten setters better than Moriarty, that would be scary. I really doubt there are, though. Kanoe deserves some props for the first weekend, since the hitting percentages were pretty high for having the passing being so poor that everyone commented on it. I'd probably put her at number two.

Also, another flaw in the poll is you don't have Cayley Thurlby of Hawaii. And Dani Mafua, the redshirt freshman, who is third on Dave's depth chart.

Ultimately, the thing is, no one can put together a decent poll like yours truly. Really. Critics have raved about it.

I would pick Kehoe. I think she and Thompson provide the same things, Kehoe only because her block is a little bigger.

Sorry, tyorder1, but this is a stupid poll. How can you tell "best" after only one weekend? If all things considered, still a stupid poll. I've seen only two hawaii matches so far and only two setters. Many teams haven't even played their first game yet. Kanoe couldn't perform the first two games because of passing/ball received errors. Yet she made the most out of what was given to her. Even if she had shanked most of the good passes, I'd still vote for her. Popularity contest. We don't care who is best as much as whom we support.
The polls such as " the most attractive match on Labor Day weekend" is more meaningful, because it draws out our interest. I look forward to Hawaii/Florida, but I voted for pepperdine/texas. Not a popularity contest. We don't care for either team; we just want texas to lose.

Pineapple, come lie down beside me. Watch the sky a bit. You'll feel better.
(Yes, I know that sounds a little suggestive. I don't care.)

I reread your criteria. Still too premature. If not based on matches played so far, then it implicates off season knowledge of the setters.

Ruffda, it was you who inspired my comments.

Yes, Engle was setting the second ball in transition at the end of the match, which is how Destinee Hooker was able to get four straight kills, two of which were Engle assists.
There should be a new poll: When a 6'3" lefty is jump-setting a 6'4" high-jump champion OH, what does the opposing coach tell their blockers/defenders to do?
