Hey, if Mason plays the rest of the season the way she did tonoght, she beats everybody. .. If we were playing UCLA, those aces wouldn't have been aces ... and she would've need more swings at the ball to put them away. I'm not saying she couldn't be effective, but All-American ~ i think that is pushing the envelope. I hope I'm wrong, because Hawaii will need her to carry a big load ~ I'm just doubtful her shoulder would hold up for an entire season if she is swinging that much.

Wow. Are they sick? What's the starting lineup going to be? Yay for Cayley, though. And Dave, put Caroline and Kelly in tonight, please. Thanks, in advance. Caroline wasn't even there tonight! That's sad. Maybe she's given up on her chances of ever contributing even with all those injuries and redshirts.

You said "anymore." Which includes forever. (to Aaronic) Yes... I really meant that Hawaii was never ever EVER going to let the Final Four become a serious goal. Yeah.. uh huh that really was what I was saying. ..riiiight. What a guy you are, anmd if ever you get accused of recruitment violation for Hawaii, I will vouch for you- that you are not a fan of the Wahine.

Well since we're all being optimistic here...
Hawaii goes undefeated the rest of the way without Kamana'o and Hittle
Mason wins National Player of the Year honors, with Houston, Gregory, and 5-2 Jayme Lee joining her on the All-American teams
Jim Leahey finally bows to public pressure and retires from commentating all sports
Alix Klineman commits to Hawaii
Now wouldn't that be a hoot if all that came true!!

;D Stuffu and I had similar discussion earlier this year. I agree that Houston is not AA candidate yet. Mason resembles Kahumoku, and if she continues tonight's play from here on, she should be all american. ANd If Hawaii wins the title, even MVP. HEHE .. Another, Mr Positive Outlook! ... I love it. If tonight's lineup were to remain for the rest of the season, the best shot of an AA on this squad is probably Kari Gregory. Her blocking numbers are becoming AA numbers, and should only go up during the WAC season. Now it seems her hitting efficiency and velocity is starting to catch up to her blocking. If we're talking potential AA candidates for this year's team, my vote would be Gregory. *EDIT* .. And she put up those kind of numbers against both Florida and UCLA too! And except for a few sets in game 3, the sets to Gregory were in a better location tonight then this whole season. Seems like she needs the set to be perfect to get a great swing at the ball.

Kelly Ong averages 5.00 digs per game on the season, making her the only non-libero backrow player on the All-American teams.

To be AA we seem to agree that Gregory has to continue her level of play. As for Mason, whether she would be performing at the same level with nebraska or texas is an unknow too. But my point is, if she plays like that from here on she should be AA or even possible MVP. Whether she can or will with stronger teams is another story.

Cayley Thurlby wraps up her five-year career with first team AA honors with averages of 14.25 assists, 2.89 digs, 1.08 blocks and 0.78 kills per game while attacking at a .500 clip.
