Caroline Blood has a breakout season, coming off the bench for several positions. She attacks at .650 percentage while averaging 1.10 kills, 1.10 blocks and 2.10 digs per game in being named to the all-WAC second team.

Seriously, I think the Wahine has to really be concerned playing with any of the top 10 teams at the rate they're playing now. I won't be bullheaded sayimg they are final 4 material, but I will give them my 100%.

Blood also makes it to the newly-added AVCA All-America Amazing Reserves Team.

Actually to be honest, the only team out there that looks like final four material is UCLA. Everyone else has either been upset or hasn't faced anyone worth mentioning.

What happened to Caroline Blood? I thought Mason's and Jayme Lee's passing was very good. Houston, though, was not not; in fact she was definitely a liability. I agree, that when her hitting is off, her whole game suffers. She was making a lots of hitting errors, sending numerous balls out of bounds. This year I been complaining about the lollipop serves of the Wahine. At last, the Wahine has a tough server in Mason. Shoji sent a wave of DS' in the match. Unfortunately, not one stood out; in fact they were mostly mediocre. I hope it was just a bad night or nerves.
We'll see after this weekend if Mason is AA material. She certainly was tonight. She did it all, hitting, passing, and serving.

Sophomore Jessica Keefe led all reserves on the AVCA All-America Amazing Reserves team with a .650 hitting percentage, 2.26 kills per game, 1.89 digs per game and 1.20 blocks per game. She is joined on the All-America Amazing Reserves team by teammate Caroline Blood, an army of UCLA's reserves, and PSU's "limbero."

Speaking of reserves, with Mason moved to the left side and Thurlby setting, do you think Keefe will hold the starting right-side slot for the forseeable future (as she did tonight)? And do you think Shoji will try his luck with a middle blocker on the right side against Stanford?

And do you think Shoji will try his luck with a middle blocker on the right side against Stanford? I think it will depend on the game situation. If an opponent's left side hitter gets hot and becomes unstoppable like Katie Carter of UCLA was, then Shoji might put Thomas on the right. Shoji mentioned that this was one of the goals of this week's practice; to slow down "hot" hitters, something UH was not able to do in the Hawaiian Airlines Volleyball Classic.

Much in the same way that Eric is obsessed about Kelly Ong and Caroline Blood I am about Jasmine...lol. No I'm not obsessed, but I am huge fan of hers. That's so neat that you live that close to her. I've only met her a couple times when I got her autograph.
