The POY will come from a final four team. This is usually true unless you have someone like a Stacy Gordon who you just can deny. Pavan is the frontrunner at the moment. So a Gator will have a one in four shot at getting POY. Nah.

When if voting done-before, during, or after the tournament?

When if voting done-before, during, or after the tournament? During, I think. The POY is usually awarded before the NCAA final.

O_rly, Pavan has lead her team to an undefeated season, has the numbers and had clutch play in close games and matches. Vanderkooi is a super player, but absolutely will not win POY. Do you think the Big 12 coaches prepare and spend the same amount of energy on Pavan and Kooi? I'm specifically speaking about Big 12 POY. Pavan is awesome, everyone knows that. I'm just saying that Vander Kooi contributes more to her team than Pavan does at Nebraska simply because Nebraska has other excellent players. I'm definitely not implying that Vander Kooi deserves national POY honors.

In all fairness Vander Kooi deserves alot more hype then she has gotten. A great all-around player who if on a top five team would still stand out a great deal.

The AVCA All-American selections and National POY are made during the AVCA Convention. The AA teams are announced before the semis, and the National POY is announced before the final.
