Interesting week for both teams. Baylor had a bye on Wednesday and has been preparing all week for this match. Mizzou on the other hand played at Nebraska on Wednesday night. Their plane was diverted going back so they didn't get back until Thursday afternoon. They now play Baylor in a rare Friday match (tonight) at 7pm..... Hopefully this helps my Bears but it may be hard to get past the fact Mizzou's core group has been together for 3 years and Baylors core group has been together 11 weeks. JUST WIN BABY!!

Mizzou's young kids haven't steppped up like Baylors.
Congratulations. When Baylor played at Missouri earlier this season, a few of us predicted we'd have a tough time at Baylor.

Taylor with another triple double- I would hope that she is getting attention for conference freshman of the year. Even Nebraska's Holloway isn't putting up numbers like her. Baylor outblocked MU 16.5 to 5!! I remember last year A&M went on a tear after a big win to win like 7 out of their last 9 to make the tournament. I hope for Bearwatch's sake this sparks a similar result for Baylor!

Hooker won't get it, she sat out 1/2 of Texas's games this year and doesn't sniff the back row. Holloway, Barnes, Engle or a dark horse...Cooper... but she has to do a lot in the last 8 games. Technically, I don't count Holloway as she was a VB player for 1/2 a year already...not the same as a true freshman

You had better look at the stats again Holloway leads Barnes by over 2 assists /game 13.41 to 11.32, Holloway leads Barnes .358 to .286 in attack %, & Holloway leads Barnes in digs/game at 2.75 to 2.20.

Holloway did red shirt last year but if you will remember she enrolled a year early at NU so age wise is only 18 like most other freshmen are.

Thanks for the Congrats. The freshmen certainly stood out in this one: Anna Breyfogle 14 kills, .389, and 10 blocks. Katie Sanders 17 kills, .296, and Barnes with triple double. Kelsey Smith the 4th freshmen had 8 kills and passed great. The move for Nicole Leblanc on the right has paid off. 2nd match with 18 kills and .319 hitting percentage and 5 blocks. Great job players and Coaches!!!

It was Cooper who's been at UNL for half a year, finishing up HS in Dec and coming to Lincoln for the Spring06 semester. Got a trip to China/Japan out of it so seems worth it.

She's much more prepared in her "court awareness" than Holloway. I think Barnes and Holloway are interchangeable when it comes to FOY (setter) but Holloway is going to get props for obvious reasons. Holloway is more athletic while Barnes makes better offensive decisions without the options that Nebraska has with strong backrow attackers. Honestly, in this situation, I feel bad for Busboom who has really good stats as a libero due to Nebraska's ability yet has been passed up by Holloway and Barnes in her "destined" position. The libero position for Busboom has to be salty considering how better played the position is in the Big 12 for someone like Alyson Jennings or Tatum Ailes.

UM Busboom leads the Big 12 in digs per game.
Who finishes out the top 10? Jennings. Even Larson is beating Jennings.

I think it would be tough for Barnes to win FOY when her team is next to last in the Big 12.
