I would love to see: (OH's) Logan Tom Kim Willougby Cynthia Barboza (MB's) Foluke Akinradewo Nana Merriwether Kiysha Killingsworth (RS) Nancy Metcalf Chrystal Morrison Ashley Engle (Setter) Nellie Spicer Robin Ah Mow Santos With that youth, the team will be spanked by other top teams. The OHs are a good combination, though I doubt Kim W will come into USAV's fold. None of the young MBs listed will make the trip, as I think the MBs need to be real experienced otherwise their poor blockings will be badly exposed! Also, no 3 Opps on the team, and Engle is too young and inexperienced, and second setter needs to be a seasoned international veteran as well. Getting Barboza back into USAV's fold will be very good for the team. I'm wondering whether the national team has any intention of pulling in Klineman as well. She will only get better training with the vets.

This is why I never log in to this website. No real discussions ever happen. Its just a bunch of know nothing's making ironical comments which would be allright if they would sometimes act serious when someone starts a new hot topic. Come on people this is international volleyball in this discussion, its nothing to laugh at. It looks like you never logged in here for 1,769 of your posts. Do you really think Canada will qualify?

Do you really think Canada will qualify? There are still qualifiers left so if Volleyball Canada could get enough of the best players to play--assuming they don't have other committments, who knows? New coaches and executive will be busy trying to convince some to get aboard as Stacey did this summer--though her time was limited.

My favorite Olympic segment is the Opening Ceremonies -- the intro film w/ Bob Costas's narration, the pageantry and program in the stadium, the parade of nations, and the procession of (mystery) runners who bring the Olympic torch into the stadium. Maaan, what drama! Everything else pales in comparison. Seriously, folks. If I miss any athletic competition, I'm okay with it, but if I miss the Opening Ceremonies, I get all Jerry Springer on the world.

On setters, I don't know if Ah-Mow Santos would hang around that long. I would like to see it. Berg looks like she could stick for awhile. I would love to see McGinnis play some international competition with some veterans to see how she would do. Hunter is still with the team I think. What ever happened to the Sam Tortorello experiment?
I think we need some decent ball control outsides. I never thought of Willoughby as a ball control player, not at the international level. I doubt you can get Tom off the beach.
Middles I think will be weak. Right side with Metcalf and possibly Busse could be great.

Oganna Nnamani for sure on the left, and Kamana'o as back up setter. It'd also be nice to see Destinee Hooker out there...as young as she is.

I would love to see McGinnis play some international competition with some veterans to see how she would do. Not a lot of people give her credit, I think she's very underrated because she plays in the SEC. I think she could do well in the Olympics and I hope she gets her shot.

Oganna Nnamani for sure on the left OK. I understand the choice for offense, but would she really be in for more than one front-row rotation every time she's in? Hiding a player in the back row is a lot harder against international-level hitters. Maybe if we could find two middles who could dig/pass at the international level so the libero sub goes for Nnamani. So the middles might be Jennifer Joines and who else?
