As good as UCLA is playing right now. They still have fairly weak outside hitting, not improved much since last week. No OH is over .2% From the audio, seems like both teams are hitting pretty sloppily. Defensive advantage goes to UCLA, with Lyman outdigging Seilhamer, and UCLA controlling the net with their blockings.

Every team has a weakness (except for maybe the USC 2003 team). If my team's biggest weakness is Sather, Carter, Daley, and Mehring on the outside, then I'm a REAL happy coach!

UCLA's blocks and backcourt defense are adjusting well to Kaczor.
Carico needs to go to other hitters and force Tennant and Johansen to get the kills and open the net.

Don't let them bully Bruins push around our fair-maidens, Mick.

USC seems to be playing with less focus than last weekend. Sloppy passing, and not adjusting to UCLA's blocks. Maybe they got over-confident from the drubbing they delivered to Stanford last weekend.
Whatever the case, the team needs to be able to put together points and controlling the momentum of the game.

And maybe Mick was wrong when he said he didn't think Stanford played poorly last weekend....they did, and now USC is having a reality check. Good thing for them...rather now than later.

Stop the hemorrhaging Mick. Mick you have only lost to UCLA once in the last 5 years and it was last month.....stop the hemorrhaging Mick......the mens b-ball joins your team in losing its first game in the new Galen Center ........USC has the Bears tomorrow in football and they are going to kick the C-AP out of the Trojans. Stop the hemorrhaging Mick.

So these 2 teams will just flip positions in the rankings if UCLA holds on

UCLA sweeps by winning gm3
They played well with Colby as the libero and Sather taking the OH spot.

Are Stanford, UCLA, USC and Washington(maybe not so much Washington) even or really inconsistant? I just expected to see more 5 game battles between these teams this season. Someone with more knowledge of these teams please advise! Thanks.

Someone with more knowledge of these teams please advise! Thanks. Well this year... UCLA can't beat Stanford, but can beat USC,Washington. USC can't beat UCLA, but had beaten Stanford,Washington. Stanford had lost to USC and Washington, but beat UCLA. Washington has won against Stanford, but had lost a match against USC and UCLA. You can think of it as they're even, except some teams do better against the other team than the rest of them.
