Are Stanford, UCLA, USC and Washington(maybe not so much Washington) even or really inconsistant? I just expected to see more 5 game battles between these teams this season. Someone with more knowledge of these teams please advise! Thanks. UCLA can't beat Stanford, but can beat USC. USC can't beat UCLA, but had beaten Stanford. Washington had beaten Stanford but splits with USC and UCLA. Stanford hadn't beaten Washington, sweeps UCLA. You can think of it as they're even, except some teams do better against the other team than the rest of them. thanks!

Someone with more knowledge of these teams please advise! Thanks. Well this year... UCLA can't beat Stanford, but can beat USC,Washington. USC can't beat UCLA, but had beaten Stanford,Washington. Stanford had lost to USC and Washington, but beat UCLA. Washington has won against Stanford, but had lost a match against USC and UCLA. You can think of it as they're even, except some teams do better against the other team than the rest of them. My opinion on this depends on how the upcoming Stanford - Washington match ends. I think if Stanford wins, I have the following conclusion. Washington beat all 3 teams at home while they lost at all 3 on the road; thus Washington does great at home! UCLA has beaten USC twice, thus I think UCLA is better. And besides just the head to head matches, I really do think UCLA is better. Stanford beat UCLA twice, and split with USC. That being said, Stanford played possibly their worst match of the season (can't comment on BYU as I didn't see it) against USC. So I think Stanford would win the majority of the matches against either of those teams. So all in all, I think Stanford is probably the best team in the conference but is capable of having an off night; while, if playing at home, Washington will win. So I predict Washington in the final four regardless of their opponent...they play well at home.

What was the score of the 3rd game?
GameTracker is stuck at 17-12.
The match isn't posted on Rich Kern's site or on either the UCLA or USC sites.

Although, will the regional be in where the team plays their regular home matches?

Regarding distinguishing top 4 Pac 10 teams, saw Washington take out Stanford at home; and Washington made about 7 errors, hitting and serving, for the entire match. Just played really well. same with UsSC v. Stanford; ust not a lot of errors made. I haven't seen many others but suspect that within all four teams is the potential to play great, and if the other teams not with it, all over. Not very profound, but I think it's indicative of great potential on each team. (i saw UsC twwice last week and can't believe USLA beat them tonight. Can understand why others would be puzzled by results.) Could also mean they are closer to mediocrity than we suspect. The first Stanford-UCLA match was what somebody earlier enivisioned; back and forth match with lots of great plays on both sides.. I think that all four will do well in the tournament, but intrinsic to this statement is that any really good team can beat any of these teams if they play their A game. Pac 10 teams not good enough to squeak by on talent alone this time.

Washington also caught Stanford on a bad night. It was the first weekend of conference play, the players hadn't practiced as much as they normally would due to injuries, etc. Stanford started playing much better after that -- at least judging from what we saw on TV a few weeks later.
My take on this that whoever wins the Stanford-UW match is at least the team most ready for the playoffs, and realistically the top team from the Pac-10. If UW loses then I'd agree they're strong at home, but I'd really worry about them in the Final Four.
Also, if UW wins then it isn't so much a question of who the best Pac-team is; it's a matter of how they match up and who plays well for that particular match. There's an element of home court advantage, but there's a lot of Rock-Paper-Scissors going on too.

This match is on FCS Pacific now. UCLA's court is driving me crazy.

first time I've seen USC up close this year. Carico has the ugliest setting motion I've ever seen, yet somehow it works. Kudos to her. Lot of errors early in this one, Seilhammer with some nice ups, Nana is Nana. Spicer is freakin amazing. Not the prettiest volleyball at this point, but it's entertaining. UCLA's court is still hurting my eyes, but whatever.

USC stacking all 3 hitters on the left hasn't worked all match, why don't they make an adjustment? Coaching cost them game 1, Mick was too stubborn to change what was't working and it allowed UCLA to just hang around and take game 1.

This is the strangest thread yet. Started last night. Why is it taking so long to end game 3? Gametracker still stuck at 17-12?

Spicer can bump backset better than any setter I've ever seen. Wow, she is deadly accurate with that.

Way better when they play in the wooden center. Great atmosphere. Just watched the replay.....Nana said they should and could of spanked USC worse.
