I suspect Nebraska is a lock to be invited and could possibly even host considering this is a great chance for the AVCA to make some bucks which they definitely need.
Who are the other teams that might be invited and who else might be a great host team? I wouldn't mind an early season trip to Hawaii I suppose. Do they have a space open in their next year's schedule for something like this?

Only if it's held in Albany.
Doesn't Nebraska already have a tournament scheduled? With other schools now scheduling for that weekend, I wonder if this will cause problems for the AVCA Showcase?

I"m curious, do teams have an "exit strategy" if an opportunity like an AVCA Showcase comes along. Nebraska's preseason schedule is not real strong again next year and something like this could look pretty attrative.

Used to be. Now the weekend is open for everyone to schedule. Starting last year.
Someone complained.

Nebraska is a definite, and I would suspect Penn State would be a lock as well given who they return. Out of the Pac 10, probably UCLA would get the invite although I could see Stanford or Washington getting it. Obviously the host site will determine who will be invited.
Generally they like to have an up and coming team in the mix, and that may end up being the host site. Cal Poly could be a good choice. Utah would also be a good choice, as they have been traditionally a good team but not one of the top teams.

When Minnesota announced a tentative season for next year a month or so ago, Stanford was listed as "probable" (or some similar wording) for a tournament. Presumably, if they ended up being invited to the AVCA showcase, they'd play there, rather than do two tournaments on the road, around that time frame.

Nebraska and PSU play early next year already, but I think both coaches would tee-it up twice, Why wouldn't you?

Nebraska and Washington wanted to tee it up twice in two years in the finals, and that didn't happen either. Same arena, same semi-final winners... and same final winner, too... darn it.

AVCA is in Louisville? How about Kentucky, playing in Louisville?
Let Ron Kordes and Z keep a cut of the gate if they get all their kids to buy tickets.
