I love it... team captains of each team could be Pavan. Larson, Houghtelling, and Stalls. We are two setters short however.

How about Nebraska, versus Nebraska, versus Nebraska, versus Nebraska! Well, that would be a showcase of high level talent, wouldn't it??? With videos of the 2005 final playing on the videoscreen/scoreboard while the match is going on.

Well if Nebraska as the defending champion is in, I would say
Nebraska Florida USC/UCLA maybe Utah as the host?

I"m curious, do teams have an "exit strategy" if an opportunity like an AVCA Showcase comes along. Nebraska's preseason schedule is not real strong again next year and something like this could look pretty attrative. Where did you find the pre-season schedule? Could you post it on here please. As for participants. I can definately see a team such as Cal-Poly or Utah hosting to try and give them a jump start on the 2007 team. Who is to say that both of them won't be there, even if they are not hosting. Nebraska of course will be there as they are defending champs. USC from the Pac-10? Penn St out of the Big 11? Anybody know when this is officially announced?

If the AVCA truly wants the top teams then Nebraska, Stanford, Penn State & Texas should be in the Showcase. Florida and USC are also possibilities. Host sites..USC, Texas, Stanford, Penn State perhaps. I don't think any of these teams have hosted before.

I also don't think they generally take two teams that played in the last match of the season. With this in mind you can eliminate several teams....for example I would obviously eliminate Texas with NU being in it (presumably) and the fact they were there last year. I like Florida's chances with Mary Wise's clout and the fact they will have 5 seniors?

Host sites..USC, Texas, Stanford, Penn State perhaps. I don't think any of these teams have hosted before. Stanford hosted the NACWAA in 1997. Though they lost to Penn State in its final, they beat the Lady Lions in a classic five-game NCAA championship final in Spokane. If Nebraska's in the 2007 NACWAA, Stanford is presumably out. If Nebraska declined for some reason (e.g., not being able to host in Lincoln or Omaha), the Card might be interested, but I'd expect UCLA or USC or even Cal to be chosen instead.

There definitely needs to be a big Pac10 team involved, so when the Huskers steamroll them we can refer to it all season long every time someone talks about "West Coast Dominance".

First of all Nebraska is automatically guranteed to be one of the four teams participating- unless for whatever reason they choose not to.
I'm suprised no one has mentioned Stanford.
My picks are: Nebraska Stanford Penn State Cal Poly
