Even though the Fab 50 doesn't automatically equal success for each school, it's interesting to see how many recruits each school got... (it definately isn't directly related to how well the school did last year)
Long Beach St. - 7
UCLA - 6
Stanford - 5
UCSB - 4
BYU - 3 USC - 3 G. Mason - 3 Loyola - 3
Penn St - 2 Lewis - 2 Ohio St - 2
Pepperdine - 1 Hawaii - 1 Ball St - 1 Rutgers - 1 Carthage - 1 Mercyhurst - 1
Hmmmm.... Stanford w/ 5? Pepp w/ only 1? Any thoughts?

Also, anybody know where Chris Icaza is going? He could be a very good libero in the collegiate game after being an OH for SCVC at only 5'10"

If a team loses only one senior...chances are they don't want 6 fab-50 replacements. Since upper-classmen tend to win championships...Most will tell you the more recruits a team has..the worse they will be the next year.

Not necessarily the case, as in Long Beach State. They have a great class coming in, and they return most everyone from this year's team....makes for great practices, and of course, a bright future! Great Job LBS coaching staff!

Returning players know that they will have to fight for their spot and it will push everyone to get better . I also heard that BYU is getting some big Cuban guy. I have no facts, just a rumor. Someone from BYU would have to verify it.

Every year.....the same
The Fab50 list is a wonderful non-bias evaluation of all talent with great consideration to every player in the country---to those that made the list.
If you didn't make the list...it is a westcoast bias, lazy, 2minute thoughtless exercise that some feeble minded coach did based on comfort zone clubs and recruiting rosters.
I just wonder why teams like Long Beach always have these great recruit years of fab50s yet they can't even make the final four. Is the over-hype recruiting to blame or the coaching?
