Gutted and sad for Harvey. I remember mentioning her name many years ago about her potential and how she is going to be next Stanford great MB. Shame that one of Singletary/Ames/Harvey will be in the bench. That is an amazing group of MBs. You forgot Bunton. Texas MB eligibility wise is : 23- Singletary (redshirted year before) 24- Ames and Bunton (redshirted year before) 25- Harvey Ofcourse I forgot about Bunton. Thank you!!

Shame that one of Singletary/Ames/Harvey will be in the bench. That is an amazing group of MBs. I still think that Parks-Demaria-Sayer-Libero is still a very good class. But yes, gone are the days where we would compete in the top recruiting class. NIL > Stanford degree. You just can’t compete with Texas, Nebraska in terms of recruitment. Sayer isn’t in Harvey’s level but she is going to be very good. I like her quickness and athleticism. Go Card! Hope you're right about Parks. It's been mentioned on here that Texas and Louisville are in the mix. She reminds me a little of a high school Alisha Glass/Kami Miner- a bit raw as a setter but oozes athleticism. I think she could set and hit at a high level in college similar to Rachel Fairbanks. If we get her, a 6-2 with Yu becomes a possibility.

I have seen Sayer, Harvey, and ZGM play in person - hope to be proven wrong but I think Sayer is the weakest among the three today - obviously still elite among her age group and not set in stone as players improve a lot but not sure if she can given Hambly’s track record coaching middles Campbell and vicini never had the physicality or athleticism to be elite MBs, and he did a pretty good job with alade lol

Can't Stanford put together a great NIL program? Seems like it needs to be a focus for any program hoping to compete at the highest level. If you tell the recruits "you'll make more with the Stanford degree", then hit up the alums that are making big bucks. Adapt to the new ways or fall behind. Let's go! Bay Area volleyball fans need a top program to follow and watch.

I’ve been told by a reliable source that we almost had Harvey.. the same reason why April Ross didn’t play for Stanford. If you know what I mean.

For us that don’t know, do you mind sharing what that is? NIL? I assume they’re implying the grades weren’t there. I will say, when asked what made her ultimately decide on Texas, Harvey in an interview said the last straw was her unofficial visit there. While believable, that doesn’t really make sense because that was a long while ago and she didn’t commit until January.

It does sound like she visited her top schools many times before deciding, it’s possible that she did visit Stanford recently that we are not aware of.

I thought Sayer had the best arm swing of the three but is the least athletic. My guess is Sayer and ZGM were not priority recruits for us. ZGM took the Duke offer and I am sure they were making it clear that she was a priority for them. Very similar situation with Glass. FWIW, both Vincini and Campbell were bigger recruits than either Sayer or ZGM. I continue to wonder is Jordyn can't be moved to MB. She is on the short side but super athletic. I am also of the view this is an easier transition than most here...
