I just looked up the mids and am happy to see Dunkle actually is having a phenomenal high school season.. lots of press on her.. breaking records and such. I think Sayer and Dunkle will fight this one out. They both have strengths.
What about Duncan? Or can she help at the OPP?

Where is the next Barboza and Klineman? Stanford really needs strong left sides.... It seems liked we got the best on every other year for such a long long time. Hodson was the last #1 recruit we got and that was almost 10 years ago. The #1 recruit isn't terribly meaningful. There aren't generally big differences between the top 3-5. Plummer, Fitz, Kipp, Baird & Francis were all considered elite. We haven't had one since Francis and we aren't really recruiting any....

What was Plummer? 3 right? Yes. Lanier was #1 Definitely the best two players in the class but KP was obviously more impactful.

Definitely the best two players in the class but KP was obviously more impactful. Fitz was #2. I find often the ratings don't match what I have seen in club. I would take Taylor's little sister over anyone in 2025....

Watching Onye Ofoegbu go off for Oregon bums me out that we missed out on her as a potential Stanford transfer. There were rumors that she was interested in Stanford. Feels like we've missed a lot lately at middle blocker - losing Maggie Mendelson to Nebraska and missing out on Michigan transfer Jess Robinson. And then ofc Taylor Harvey committing to Texas.

As I said, we need to being back Denis Corlett! We need that motherly assistant coaches vibe we used to have.😅

Don’t feel confident about the game today 😖 Bounce-back victory, but in four sets.

Don’t feel confident about the game today 😖 Bounce-back victory, but in four set. FSU may be more balanced than Miami. They have two really good players, one is a middle hitter. It's probably around a toss up given FSU is at home. Stanford may have to dig deep to win this one. Rubin will need to have a much better match.

I was watching a replay of Stanford vs Hawaii match back in 2012..
Hayley Spelman was the starting opposite of that Stanford team. 6'6 lefty. With Inky, Burgess, Howard and Bugg.
IIRC Spelman was the #3 ranked recruit coming out of high school. She didn't really live up to the potential but went on to have a successful pro career abroad.
I hope Sarah Hickman will have a better collegiate career than Spelman - both 6'6 and lefty.
