Typical, this past page of USWNT'ers. Earth to posters: they interviewed KP before announcing the award. She said (to paraphrase), 'I'm aiming for 2020, but I have school, so I am not sure about that. After all of that I think I'm going for beach' (nearly word-for-word). So Yeah, MAYBE she hits Tokyo - if she makes the team - BUT, as I stated here before - sand is her future. Can we get a Plummer/Sponcil pair going? 🙏🏽 I just finished lunch but this potential pairing has me salivating.

Seriously doubt it; in line with her thinking: a) She is a MOST experienced sand player, with numerous awards; b) That is the ONLY domestic version of the sport that pays pretty/really good money contract-wise here in the US (are there any indoor leagues?); c) She had a meniscus injury/ surgery; the soft sand will suit her knee Much More; d) Maybe she wants to stay closer to home here in the States: instead of bumfvck Turkey, or some other European "hotspot". International ball ISN'T cut out for everyone!

Congrats to KP!
How is Kipp's backrow defense? Would it be a stretch if Kipp played OH all the way around and played right back on defense when she's back row? This way she's still an option on the D ball? McClure can then go in backrow for Fitz and play middle back all 3 rotations. Formico might have to just be a serving specialist for one of the middle blockers.

Plummer is going to go down as the most decorated womens collegiate volleyball ever and possibly one of the most deocrated player across womens sports.

I agree if you want to stay in the U.S. and make a living sand is the only option at this time. It’s difficult to have a prosperous career on sand. You have to consistently be one of the top ten teams. And who knows when the AVP will go out of business again. The best avenue is to get to a level where a sponsor will pay big bucks for an endorsement.
Plummer comes from an upper middle-class family so she may not be motivated to do whatever makes the most money possible. Anyway, hope it happens.
As far as Formico being used as a serving specialist, I would like to see her become more consistent with her serve before considering that. She missed serves at critical times that drove me crazy.

I think, and this is my opinion, that Plummer will play some pro indoor before leaving for beach. Once she gets into beach there is no turning back to indoor, i think she might end up playing til ‘24 olympics indoor and then make the move

I'm DIRECTLY, Literally transcribing her comments from the award show. KP: "My plans are to try to go to 2020; I'm in school still so that might be a little bit tough. But I mean I want to play it for as long as my body holds up, indoor, and then maybe transition to the beach: Absolutely". So, there you have it from the source! A thing I Did NOT Know: her dad played in an Oly.

What many do not know -- and the meta-message within her "for as long as my body holds up, indoor..." addresses this -- is that her knee's meniscus injury was Not Fully Healed when she began playing again this past season: so her mentioning her transition to sand may occur sooner rather than later. One other thing, pertaining to health concerns and the team: most Do Not know that a Raging case of the flu went through the team before the '17 semifinals versus Florida. Hentz and Fitzmorris were Very Ill!

Compared to 45-55 minutes from the Stanford campus (Santa Cruz)...or where she grew up...or where I reside now ('bout an hour from Kona; 1.5 hr from Hilo): Bumfvck!

Istanbul is a world class city. Only American city that is on its level is New York. It’s up there with the great cities of the world like Paris, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

I went last year for the first time. Seriously incredible. I would move there in a heartbeat. I'm already contemplating a return trip! And our US athletes that end up playing there always seem to love it. They get paid well and treated like royalty.
