Not sure if this was posted yet, but Tai-Olevao, Longo, Vorster and Uiato are all in Colorado Springs for the NT tryouts.
I think this is promising news, especially with Vorster since she has soo much upside as a returning middle. Here's to hoping she makes one of the three teams!

Yes, I wish all four of them the best of luck...really think it will help Vorster's game because she does have so much upside to her game. I also gotta say that im interested to see what Longo can do with this experience too because she already is a stellar libeiro and this can only help her. Hoping Uiato can get this experience too because she would be so much versatile if she aint predictable on her sets and can come a little more offensive wont hurt too. Making the three teams will be competitive but Im pretty sure out of the four Longo and Vorster may stand the best chance.

maybe Hartong needs to rest her body?? ... especially if she has had any nagging injuries.

Emily Hartong was selected as one of the 48 from last year. She doesn't need to go to this tryouts. Kiraly is well aware of Hartong's capabilities, esp after doing the color for Fox at the UH match at Long Beach last season, where Emily had a kill high of 33. Followed that with 29 against Irvine at Irvine and was selected the National Player of the week. Reed Sunahara commented to Cindy Luis that Karch really likes Hartong.

Further explanation for Hartong not at tryouts. Hartong was selected as one of 48 players out of 250 trying out last year. They were split into four teams and had matches against each other. The 48 players are not at this year's tryouts. The same process is done this year to select the 48 players out of 247. During these tryouts Kiraly and co. have a good idea of who can play at the Olympic level. When Olympic year nears, I would think that the coaches send out invitations to the players they think that would contribute to the national team.

Interesting - the sand season also starts on March 15th. That match against FIU starts at 9:30 AM. Do the crossover girls play sand in the morning, indoor at 7:00 then back to the sand tournament on Saturday?
