No official yet, but it may seem that both Hagins and Stauber are transferring to Idaho. Idaho has one returning starter at MB and none at S. With 3 setters, I see Kyra Goodman redshirting and Tayler Higgins backing up Uiato to get D1 gametime for experience for 2014. That would be pretty interesting if they both went to the same school. It reminds me of Dana Knudsen (MB) and Alexandra Palmer (S) both transferring from Santa Clara to Minnesota. I was thinking that a backup middle could be Annie Mitchem from Irvine Valley College. She was the #16 recruit in 2012 and is 6'3. I believe she was recruited by Hawaii and either way Irvine Valley does have connections with UH since the head coach is Lisa Strand-Ma'a's brother I think. That is how they got Sarah Mendoza and maybe Emily Mount on the sand team.

The Hawaii connection for Irving Valley to Hawaii is Tom Pestolesi the head coach was an AA for Hawaii 1982-3 and is married to Diane Sebastian, another AA for the Rainbow Wahine.

I remember reading that her grades sucked out of high school and that's why she had to go to a JUCO.

But she could be a possibility if she wanted to transfer now. I do remember seeing that she did not have the grades to play at the colleges of her choice. But I saw that someone mentioned Nebraska and Hawaii were her final two choices. This season she red-shirted so if she did come she would be a red-shirt freshman at 6'3

Sad to hear Stauber leaving, but best wishes to her wherever she ends up, she'll be a great asset to wherever she lands!
Nice to hear Kyra Goodman coming to Hawai`i!

Definitely Kyra Goodman would be a great setter for Hawaii especially in the future. Her and Tayler Higgins is just amazing. both great setters. but Tayler Higgins is ranked on prep volleyball #19. How about Kyra is she ranked?

and for Annie Mitchum....I hope she ends up at Hawaii because she is really good and I remember she was ranked #16 on prep volleyball. but she had to go to JC due to her grades. but I truly hopes she ends up at Hawaii and she would only be a red shirt freshman lie you said!!!!!!!!

With Stauber leaving Shoji now has a scholarship available, a much needed one to recruit a quality MB like Mitchum.

I hope Dave Shoji uses that 1 available scholarship for a really good middle. (Like Annie Mitchum). Because I think we need at least another great middle.

The Hawaii connection for Irving Valley to Hawaii is Tom Pestolesi the head coach was an AA for Hawaii 1982-3 and is married to Diane Sebastian, another AA for the Rainbow Wahine. Pesto has strong connections to a number of programs, including UCI and certainly LBSU. If the Mitchum kid is all that, I guarantee Gimmillaro has made the short drive to Irvine Valley more than a few times. I'm not saying Hawai'i can't or won't get her (assuming Dave is actually recruiting her), I'm just saying there isn't a magical connection between IVC and Hawai'i. Pestolesi has sent players to a bunch of schools.
