Now now. Murilo will be back. His surgery was pretty routine, and he's 32 himself (since 34 evidently counts as young?). Giba, yes, was kind of a silly thing to say. I didn't say 34 was young...I said the OLDEST guy potentially off the past WL roster and Olympic roster will be 34 years old come 2016. Murilo is 32 now...he will be 35 in 2016. For perspective, Stanley was 34 and Priddy was almost 35 last Olympics. My point remains...not sure how you slow this group down before 2016 with all this depth. Every other team in the world seems to have questions right now and Russia wins w/o "arguably" top 5 in the World at their positions in Mikhaylov, Volkov, and Obmochaev. Scary...

Good learning experience for them but if brazil had Giba or Murilo on the pin...whole different story. PEACE Agreed. It was same for our USA boys this go around at WL. Our shaky setting will be ironed out with Lloy, our O2 problems are solved once Karch settles back into things, and the Opp slot gets a whole lot deeper once Timmons and Clay start battling. 2016 should be great!!!! Moving on... Umm...how scary is Russia right now? Not only is their depth absolutely unreal right now, but they are still insanely young. Here are their starters (and Mikhaylov)off their WL Finals roster. Check out how old these guys will be in 2016. Opp- Pavlov (34) MB- Apalikov (33) S- Grankin (31) OH- Sivozhelez (30) OH- Spiridonov (28) Opp/OH- Mikhaylov (28) MB- Muserskiy (27) Here are 7 more guys who were on the 2012 Olympic roster... OH- Khtey (33) Opp- Sokolov (33)OH- Berezhko (32) MB- Volkov (31) S- Butko (30) OH- llinikh (29) L- Obmochaev (27) That's 14 guys under the age of 34 with 9 guys 31 or younger! Throw in the fact that Gold Medal starters Volkov & Obmochaev weren't even at WL Finals and Mikhaylov was a non-factor and it's pretty scary how deep Russia is right now. Russia didnt have an opposite named Sokolov in London but they had Alexander Sokolov at the libero position.

How did our players (the USA team) match-up in the "world Cup" stats? How did our players rank in the whole "World Cup FIVB League"?

I heard changes will be made about the tournament next year - again. FIVB ought stop making changes every year and set a permanent format for the tourney, once and for all.

If Murilo comes back at full speed...and Dante isn't limited by his ankle...I think Brazil has a bit of a different offense. The Bic was almost unseen for Brazil, and ball control was not their usual. Sergio was better than Mario is. it will be interesting to see if that improves...and Wallace didn't seem like himself in the final.

You could start a "US national team" thread. There's one for the women on the women's board. I imagine there's sufficient interest to keep it active.

Mike Wall was one of if not my absolute favorite BYU player to watch, and one of the reasons I went to BYU. I know a girl who played at Saint Mary's when he was there. She said he was very solid. I know the jump from NCAA to Int. is a big deal, but she gave him a great endorsement.

So Universal sports provides live streaming for WORLD GRAND PRIX, but does not do the same for the WORLD LEAGUE. That's so unfair!. The guys go out there to represent the blue-red-white and they are not given the same importance as the girls. Absurd!. universalsports.com/watch-live/
