Can you please provide a link to confirm? There is nothing mentioned on the MPSF website. Thanks Not sure where Makawao got the article from, but here's the Honolulu-Advertiser's "late breaking news" confirming it.Theocharidis named MPSF player of year Advertiser Staff University of Hawai'i senior outside hitter Costas Theocharidis was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation's volleyball Player of the Year for the second time. My Tigers lead the conference with 7 all conference selections... 1 1st teamer, 1 3rd teamer, and 4 Honorable mentions and who can forget...CO-COACH of the year... However, i couldn't help but notice the abundance of liberos on the list. NINE all conference liberos?! Where was this vague line drawn... And of all teams to have their liberos left off... Pepperdine and Hawaii's liberos were both left out. What does it take to constitute Honorable mention...anyone know?

Why is there only one middle blocker on the first team?

Hawaii's libero had changed. Muise started in the early part of the season and then Motter became the libero. Then Zimet played a few games at that position, and it went back to Muise. So Hawaii having their libero left out makes some sense. But why does Pepperdine have three first team selections and no one else made the list?

i find it difficult to believe that BYU had only 3 players on all four lists (with 1 2nd teamer, 1 3rd Teamer and 1 Honorable Mention). you're trying to tell me that the #3 team in the nation doesn't have players that are deserving of a 1st teamer?
come on. pepperdine had 3 1st teamers (though all deserving).
i also can't believe that t. hildebrand didn't even make a list at all. FOY and not even a mention besides that? (but yay for my boy!)

what about the coaches of the year? Wortman and Campbell did good jobs this year, but speraw took a team that wasnt supposed to be as good as either pacific or csun and did better than both of them. Tom Peterson is deserving of the award. Another name is Marv Dunphy, pepp started out a little rocky and turned into the favorite.

Do these selections mean that Kimo Tuyay is only the fourth best setter in the league? Two of the setters above him are out of the playoffs. I guess being Freshman of the Year and leading his team to the National Championship doesn't mean crap. Everyone has been saying he gets better every year. I guess not. I guess Leahy and his sidekick are not the only ones that don't give this guy any credit. I know one guy that gives Kimo his props, Chris Marlowe, but then again he knows volleyball.
