So the Hamson girls played both VB and WBB at BYU. Does anyone know what Schollie they used? Basketball, unless they were walk-ons in both sports.

Yes; Women's basketball is a higher tier sport over Women's volleyball. If you play both sports during the same academic year, and your on an 'athletic scholarship', then you are a basketball 'counter' only! - A freebie for volleyball.

It appears that NE VB has committed all available scholarships thru 2021, that could change, but less likely for 2020 than 2021. Picking up a potential VB recruit on a wbb scholarship would be a plus for vb. Might be a win-win for both programs if a red shirt freshman year was anticipated. Lots of ifs. Anyone know the scholarship situation for Nebraska wbb?

The WBB Huskers had 11 players this year. Two were seniors and three recruits signed NLIs for next year. Since I've been following them, I don't remember them ever having 15 players on the roster. Even if they did have more players, I suspect there would be a scholarship available for Ware.

So that means no Francis.... if this post is in fact true which I think their may be some falsehood because I’ve heard Nebraska is still pulling for Francis.

I think they can make a room for Francis but honestly I think she's Stanford bound now. She's a gem.

I’m pretty sure Nebraska has one scholarship available for 2019 and beyond. I think Francis is the target with two years to spare. She is a gem who will have a good chance to start, right away, at either Nebraska or Stanford. Nebraska has two ds/libero types on scholarship. Miller and Knuckles. The two foreign student athletes, I believe, aren’t on scholarship. Stutheit and Gabel are walk-ons. I don’t think any promises of scholarship were given to the latter two girls. Densberger MAY receive a scholarship this year if no transfer comes aboard this fall. Strictly my opinion. Ideally, if a transfer comes into the program for the 2019 season, she is a junior. So that way her scholarship would be used up if and when Sami Francis commits to Nebraska.

They could use a grad transfer OH who will be there for a year and let them redshirt Capri Davis and still have depth behind Sun and Kubik.

Cook doesn't really use the transfer market for depth, at least he hasn't. It seems he only targets potential upgrades/starters. I wouldn't expect him to bring in anyone unless he thought they could beat out a current/projected starter.

Doubtful that she was brought in to realistically compete for a starting spot over Hames.

I may have been wrong on scholarship count but here is how counted. Assumed 4 juniors on scholarship: Stirvens, Sun, Sweet & Szabo. 4 sophmores: Davis, Hames, Miller & Swartzenbach. 3 freshman: Knuckles, Kubik and Zuhn. That's 11. News report of commitment from Drewnick in 2020. News report of 5 recruits for 2021: Batenhorst, Krause, Orr, Gray & Rodriguez. Not sure if all recruits are scholarship, but things seem pretty full, but could be a transfer before 2021

I have heard Drewnick is also 2/4 but no confirmation.
