2021 medical redshirt and 2020 didn’t count cuz covid. For all intents and purposes her 2022 B1G POY season was her freshman year eligibility wise lol I was trying to find the full hardship waiver (medical redshirt) criteria and I found one with some case studies but it still left some questions. Minnesota site says Landfair played in 9 matches in 2021. It also says Minnesota played 28 regular season matches in 2021. That would mean Landfair played in ~32% of Minnesota's competitions, which is over the 30% limit. Maybe the rule has changed or I'm missing something here. You're missing that the 30 percent calculation is based on total competitions. Not just regular season. Minnesota played in 32 matches, so 9/32 is 28%.

That makes sense in regards to the most recent document I found from 2022. I previously saw something about 'competition dates' in another document which could be confusing since teams do not schedule equal matches/competition dates, so, I was wondering if there was a specific number, but, it seems to be based on each individual team and their matches played, including postseason. ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/compliance/sar/d1/D1SAR_NewlyAdoptedHardshipWaiverLegislationPowerPoint.pdfIt doesn't provide a case study for volleyball, but, not sure it's really necessary as it's pretty well laid out and you can draw from the other examples. Landfair didn't play past the halfway mark either.

Landfair is the 10th transfer into Nebraska in the last 13 years. There very well could be two more transfer portal additions to the 2024 roster. Anymore the last five years, practically all teams can’t just recruit high school players. For Nebraska you have a middle on basketball scholarship but decides she will focus on volleyball and wants to start. Kubik was not a surprise after two years and wanting to play and start her last two years somewhere. CJ transferring was a negative surprise to me. When she decided in June/July 2021 the known quality pins at Nebraska were zero for her situation starting in 2023.
The three freshmen pins were all in summer conditioning for their freshmen years. Beason, the same class, was beginning her start at Florida. WL became pregnant with her boyfriend and all the uncertainty there. Coaches, now more than ever, react to what their players do. The players have a much easier and huge number of transfers nationally yearly. Plus NIL is a part of the equation and Nebraska should not apologize for its ability to capitalize for Nebraska volleyball. It is because of fans, organizations and a shopping mall. I think Texas will never apologize if other schools can’t or won’t compete. NIL is still very new nationally. Welcome Taylor Landfair!

landfair has previously threatened to transfer over potentially paying right side, I dont see it happening We'll probably get a portal right side for 2025. Kennedy Martin 🕯️ Let's continue the Florida to Nebraska pipeline.

Pretty sure the Florida fans would go into nuclear meltdown mode if that happened. Seriously though, if Stuckey comes back healthy, Florida will be an interesting team to watch this year. They were arguably the best team in the country before her injury. I haven't heard anything about her recovery, but her injury looked ugly when I saw it happen. Sometimes players are never the same after an injury like that.

Nebraska is going to be perfectly fine for 2024, but I see quite the conundrum brewing (for the current Nebraska standards) for 2025+. Aymes switching to Texas (and the further Mendelson transfer) doesn't really leave Nebraska with a Nebraska quality MB for depth. Sure there are some talented middles in the portal, but it would seem quite the task to get a Nebraska quality middle in the portal only to sit behind Allick and Jackson. Players that good presumably WANT to play. Now with Jurevicious leading, after 2024, the only returning pin starter will be Murray and the only other pin depth would be Pierce...and I dunno if she's gonna make the cut of what Nebraska needs to win titles. I'm always open to be proven wrong, but I don't see an elite six rotation attacker right now in Pierce. The rest of the hitting talent for 2025 will be true freshman..... I'm curious to see how Cook navigates the 2024/2025 transition. Sigler, OH, is in the 2025 class. She is a good 6 ro OH.

Rankings these days are not what they were, but Prepvolleyball updated their 2025 list and things to note:
Our outisde hitter recruit Teraya Sigler is now ranked #2 overall for the class (#1 is Texas recruit Abby Vander Wal) and our setter recruit Campbell Flynn slots in at #8 overall.

She's a great all around player. Spears is still very highly ranked at 4. Mullen of USC at 3

Does anyone know if Nora Herian is on the radar as a recruit for the future? She's a freshman from small town Northeast NE. Her dad played football for the Huskers as a tight end. She was listed on Volleyball Mag as part of their dream team this week. Led Nebraska Elite team (15's) to the open championship at the Northern Lights qualifier.

[br Her Dad Matt, suffered a brutal broken leg and ligaments damage in a game at home. It was a head turner to see the replay. Ugly. I hope Matt is ok and Nora will become known if she is in club and shows well. You have to play in enough tournaments and go to summer camps is huge too.

IMO Jurevicius’ biggest problem wasn’t playing time in 2024 behind, it’s probably seeing Ryan Hunter play… and she will be in Lincoln in 25. Anyone wanting to see Hunter can go to KC in February (17-19) to watch her with her club team. I’m sure the Jurevicius family will be in KC watching Ava play… Joe is a good judge of vb talent.

What is the scouting report on Ryan Hunter? I like that she is lefty. Is is likely she starts next year? If not who steps in? Pierce or someone else? I figure Pierce projects on the left long term.
