The Misty May-Treanor Sports Center is proud to present a new, state-of the art sports destination opening October 1st, 2014 in the city of Irvine, CA. Boasting an impressive $1,000,000 of low-impact Haro wood floors, the Misty May-Treanor Sports Center, or “MMTSC,” will feature 22 indoor volleyball courts, 21 indoor basketball courts, and 21 indoor futsal courts that will also be home to the new MMTSC Girls and Boys Volleyball Clubs. When asked about his motivation for building the MMTSC, Managing Member Mike Rangel is quick to smile and reply, “That’s easy. For the first time ever in Orange County, we are going to provide athletes the ability to practice on the same day(s) of the week, at the same time, on the same court, year-round. It’s all about consistency.”
Athletes who want to take their game to the next level will also be able to take advantage of the MMTSC’s cutting-edge weight training and plyometric programs being headed up by PlyoCity, a nationally-recognized training company with 107 franchise locations across the United States. But make no mistake, the MMTSC is not just all about sports and courts. In fact, one of the foundational elements most important to MMTSC Volleyball Club advisor and facility namesake, three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Misty May-Treanor, was the MMTSC’s recognition of, and commitment to, the importance of education. As a result, the MMTSC will also feature a spacious educational resource center where athletes will be able to study and work on homework before or after practice.
Parents, do not despair—the MMTSC is not just a place for kids. “In designing the MMTSC, one of the things we really wanted to do was create a place that was fun for parents, too” says Mike Rangel. Case in point, directly across from a Pro-Shop sporting the latest in athletic apparel sits the facility’s full-service, million dollar restaurant where up to 400 visitors can escape the noise, relax and watch television on any of the space’s 10 high-definition TV’s. Additionally, whether courtside, in the restaurant, or anywhere else in the facility, visitors will also be able to plug into high-speed WIFI from their phone, tablet, or laptop to browse the internet, place a food order with the restaurant, or catch up on work.
Aside from its sleek new courts and full-service restaurant, the MMTSC’s biggest selling feature just might be its prime location in the booming heart of Irvine, California’s fastest growing city. Nestled off the 5 freeway and Jamboree, and just minutes from the 405, 55, 73, 133, 241 and 91 freeways, the centrally located MMTSC gives parents and athletes the opportunity to dodge traffic-choked highways and reclaim more of their day.
The MMTSC is located at 14522 Myford Rd, Irvine, CA 92606 and will be open for court rentals from 12pm – 10pm, Monday through Friday, and 8am – 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, please visit the MMTSC’s website at www.themmtsc.com or call (714) 389-7900.
