All-star matches need to die in a fire. These things are so worthless. Can't believe some of you are really judging how a player looks in a match where they're all playing with strangers, can't establish a rhythm and barely care about the outcome. +1

Does anyone remember what Nwanebu scored on the radar gun when she won in 13, or last years winner (forgot who won)? AFAIK, it was Lauryn Gillis (freshman at USC) who took the title last year as the hardest hitter.

They just wanted to see how they'd do. I'm pretty sure we understand you can't take much from it.

It was fun to see them play, but I do think it does them a disservice to throw them together like that and judge them on their performance.

Was impressed with Poulter, White, Tunell, Granato, and Smith's hitting ( though she had a lot of errors) Just curious, what do you consider "a lot of errors"?

You should refrain from making any hard assessments of players based on this match. All it is is a nice honor and a way to give more exposure to the game. That's all
The event itself needs a SERIOUS overhaul..it's poorly staged, poorly run, and most people are just bored. I've seen middle school productions of Our Town with better pacing and crowd interest.

Did not realize Bedart-Ghani jump-served. Nice surprise. Of course, they weren't getting over the net in the first set, but I'm sure she'll keep working to improve that skill.

Coach Sheffield was very complimentary of Micaya White; said he really hadn't seen her before, but she was standing out to him (though 1.5 sets).
