Barboza, a 6-foot outside hitter, is a 16-year-old junior at Long Beach Wilson High School who is widely considered one of the best high school players in the United States. Also on the 2004 Women's National Team and presently training for the Olympics www.usavolleyball.org/National/04wNTroster.aspYou already knew that

If you wanna get to the next level, it's a no-brainer, you go to LONG BEACH STATE, NOT u$c, Stanford, or anywhere else.....

I have heard from a very credible source that her parents want her to attend Stanford and it will be a hard sell for her to go anywhere else.

Gysin even mentioned in some past article that her mom wanted her to go to nearby Stanford. Look where she's gonna end up playing?

Saw Cynthia on the local ABC channel 7 sportscast a little while ago. A nice piece with interview and action clips. A story on VB - kewl! She looked very cute and did a nice interview.

I wonder who is her roommate at OTC? I would guess it would be either Nnamani or Stalls, going by near similarity in age. I hope both do not brainwash her with the Stanford jingles .

But Beachman, remember that players want to win national championships too, and not being consistently booted out of the 1st round of NCAA tourney. If they want the national team training AND winning national championships, then USC is the logical choice.

How many are from Stanford or U$C? Well, I guess the $tanford and U$C players prefer to use their degrees to make even more $$$ in the corporate world, and then funnel some of those millions they have earned back into their alma maters.

I think the No. 1 beach player in the world is Kerrie Walsh.
