Cynthia may follow Kerri's footsteps onto the beach when she is finished with her indoor career. She is an incredible talent in the sand, has earned her AAA several times over, and was very competitive in the CBVA Open tournaments the short amount of time she was home during the summer.

I have heard from a very credible source that her parents want her to attend Stanford and it will be a hard sell for her to go anywhere else. Your source is correct. It will be Stanford and you can bet the farm on that. Beachman is a dreamer who hopes his Beach team can recapture it's past glory. Unfortunately for him, that's not likely to happen.

I think the No. 1 beach player in the world is Kerrie Walsh. Well, I think it's Misty May!

PSQ33 you sure SOUND like you have some inside information, but based on a conversation that I had with Cynthia's dad several weeks ago I can assure everyone on this board that you are full of %*$#! ;D

Beachman, look at the awards on the AVP that does help settle the argument. But I agree that neither would be there without the other. And I really don't think you can count all the players from LBSU that don't even travel with the team. And I believe Cynthia has her own foot in the door with the national team with out anyones help.

Well, Cross-Battle and May were great players entering into LBSU. They would been on the same track practically anywhere they went. However, I give Brian credit for developing Scott and Haneef. But LBSU has had their fair share of busts too. Also Hochevar and Thomas were not stars in their positions in college. Props go out to Toshi for really bringing those two along. Stanford boasts Logan Tom, Kerri Walsh, and eventual international superstar Ogonna Nnamani. No shame in that. Those players were of course great entering college. They had some busts like Sara Sandrick, but we all know she was never capable of being a Walsh or a Tom. Anyhow, I think Cynthia will get pretty much an equal training at any of her top choices. She should choose the school she vibes w/ the best.

I wonder who is her roommate at OTC? I would guess it would be either Nnamani or Stalls, going by near similarity in age. I hope both do not brainwash her with the Stanford jingles . Who's Stalls? What's a Stanford jingle?

There once was a girl named Rosa, Whose biggest claim to fame was to have known Cynthia Barboza, To her room, she walked, up alone, To call Cynthia, she must, on the phone, But connected she was, to Sammy Sosa.

Yes, LBS has had it's share of disappointments I guess(would you like to name a few) but then so has every other major school, most many more than LBS. Nice to know that Misty and Tara would have "made it" no matter where they went.....you are definitely assuming facts NOT IN EVIDENCE here sweetheart! Yeah Brian did a great job with Tayyiba and Scott, and frankly Hochevar came to Long Beach because of her desire to one day play at the OTC and so did Elisha.....Brittany was a two time all-american, and Elisha should have made it at least once but didn't, however she has impressed Toshi a great deal and will probably remain at the OTC.....Of all of the superstars that other major schools have recruited ie. Stanford USC, UCLA, Pepperdine, Arizona, UH, NONe I repeat NONE has the proven track record of Brian and LBS.....this is irrefutable, pure and simple.....and it will remain so in the future!!!!!!!! ;D ;D brybry your response was PITIFUL

You really need to stop giving LBSU fan's flase hope. If you had a daughter who could choose betwwen LBSU and Stanford where would you want her to go? You need to get over yourself and start being realistic. The Beach's best days are in the past, and once Brian leaves WVB will become as medicore as all other LBSU sports.

All you do is tell other posters they suck and you CAPITALIZE a few words and throw in a few smiley/frowny/winking faces to try to validate your opinion. That's so annoying. I feel like a 9 year old is making these posts. Anyhow, my opinion remains that Cross-Battle and May would have still been great had they gone to other colleges. Pretty much anyone of their caliber that has entered college a star has left college a star. Tom and Walsh being examples. The same will be for Pavan and Barboza. Those two are destined for stardom. Also, give up the sales pitch. Cynthia's decision won't be based off of your posting. You should hope not either, because you do a really poor job of representing your school. One would think that LBSU was filled w/ loudmouthed lunatics. Ugg, if anything Cynthia should drop LBSU to keep distance from some stalker who harasses her dad and knows her every move. Can we say creepy? Opps, let me rephrase that in your language...Can we say CREEPY?!!!!!!! ;D

Isn't that an NCAA violation for a booster for a school (LBSU in your case) to talk to potential recruits and their relatives? Not if they are personal friends that you have had a relationship with over time. Furthermore there is a difference between just having a casual conversation and doing a recruiting pitch....you ought to save these little speeches for some of the other D1 schools, like U$C whose coaches don't believe that the illegal contact rules apply to them! I know the rules!
