Easy hater. they played the best team in the world as the visiting team and took a beating although a respectable one. Alison and Bruno will beat teams a lot worse than that. Back to earth. Casebeer/Olsen get stomped by Alison/Bruno 11,13 nah..no hate here. I like both guys but I can see how the post may have come across...I should have ended it by saying that it was a really respectable run getting into the tourney. But facing the world's best was a back to earth moment and they did get beat badly but like you said, that has happened to a lot of teams past couple years...

How has Rosie looked? I am curious I thought that team would have been better. I wonder if it's a chemisty issue or one of them not pulling their weight. it was hard to tell, theo got EVERY serve.
It's really surprising to see Theo get every serve and this team doing so badly. Losing to France was a shocker.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but what is the first tie breaker? Head to head or set ratio?
Wondering how Rosie/theo didn't move on.
Thanks

Thanks Ya, usually it's head to head then total ratio among tied teams but this is weird. How did Schalk-Saxton not win that pool and get the bye? Canada & France both finished in 1st with 2-1 but Canada has them beat in the head to head. Did they change tie break rules for this season? I'm gonna look into this?

Interesting brackets. The top is absolutely stacked.
The bottom bracket has the two top teams playing first and then the winner of that should make the final in a fairly easy path.

Also conceivable Emmanuel could get out of that bracket. About as easy as he could ask for, here's hoping.

I'll be interested what you find out. Seams strange to change the rules.

Ok so, the rules have changed. There is no more head to head. Ties are now broken by point ratio of the entire pool, not just between tied teams.

How about Adrian/Ranghieri handling Gibb/Patterson 21-17 and 21-12?

How about Adrian/Ranghieri handling Gibb/Patterson 21-17 and 21-12? Thats my biggest objection to the way the FIVB runs things. Gibb/Patterson get embarrassed by two average teams. In any reasonable format they would be heading home. Instead they move on to the playoffs as does virtually everybody else. Evandro and Pedro play almost as badly losing to two 20 and below seeded teams, good enough to make the playoffs. Meanwhile Emmanuel beats the 2 and 15 seed and ends up in exactly the same place.

Happy to see the Dog and Pony show (Fendi and Sweat) move on after defeating a tough Brazilian team.Glad to see them clicking after a slow start.
