Does anyone know if they announced the site for next year's NACWAA?
And when do they announce the teams participating?

Colorado State(who will be quite good next year), is the host. Generally, they'll invite the defending National Champ and who knows who else. I wouldn't be surprised to see USC and Florida back in it, maybe with a Big 10 team or a Big 12 team.

For you kolohekeiki Hawaii won in 96 They beat Florida in 5 in the opening match, that was a good one. Hawaii beat Nebraska in the final, if I remember correctly.

Yup, Florida had a lot of question marks that year and they took a preseason favorite Hawaii to 5 games in that tourney. That loss gave them a ton of confidence and they went on to dominate the rest of the season before losing to Hawaii again in the final four (semis). That was another really good match. Come to think of it, all of the matches between these two programs have been pretty hotly contested. Hmmm...might Hawaii have a new rival??

Yeah I actually think Hawai`i and Florida would be a great rivalry to get started.
I think Florida should be a yearly entry into one of the Wahine's pre-season tournaments, that way we would be able to play them every year.

That 1998 tourney at Hawaii was fun. Sunshine televised all the matches live and there was some great volleyball that weekend. Ohio State, UCLA, Florida and Hawaii.I remember staying up very late for all the matches, but it was worth it. Great way to start the season that year. Who knew a few months later, UH and UF would meet up again, in Gainesville and play a thrilling 5 setter.

It's a shame they are so far apart and don't play each other more often. They could split the distance and meet in Minnesota for an early season tournament! ((* During a time of year when it is sweltering in the un-air-conditioned Pavilion and not hovering in the single digits temperature wise. *))

NACWAA loves women coaches. The lineup?
USC (defending champion ...I think.) Colorado State (host) Washington State (female coach) Texas A&M (female coach)
Alternates: Pepperdine or UCSB.
Not Florida, Hawaii, and Minnesota. They were in recent NACWAA's, although no rule excludes them, per se.

First NACWAA I saw was the 1999 in nebraska with Florida, pacific, Nebraska, and....Penn State, was it?
I did catch the hawaiian airlines tourney in 98. Stupid VCR chewed up the UH vs. UF tape from the tourney earlier this year

And it was enought to cause much of that same Gator team to do pretty much the same thing to Hawaii in 1998. Now this. That's ok, 2005 is our turn to knock them out of the final four. At least I think that is what the contract said.

I remember reading last year that Florida will be playing UH in either 2004 or 2005. I know UH will get a very feisty Arizona team. Oh, and UCLA as usual.

There was an article either this year or last year, about how Florida dominates their conference and how they need to use their preseason to play tough. In that article, it mentions that Hawaii was trying to get Florida to one of their tournaments.
