But I have to say that Melissa Villaroman and Hedder Ilustre have been two of Hawai'i's best defensive specialists. No offense, but I still don't understand the strategy of sticking Villaroman in in and having Willoughby pass for her on the serve recieve. What was up with that?

Great picks as well Kolohekeiki. Those would be my picks for subs too. Nope that is a great team. As a bench I would have: MB-Cia Goods MB-Veronica Lima OH-Kenyatta Lovelace OH-Therese Crawford R-Jenny Wilton S-Kanoe Kamana`o Li-Hedder Ilustre

The reason Dave did this probably was solely for defensive purposes. With the great passing of Lily and Kim, I'm sure that he didn't need Melissa there to pass the majority of the time. He just kept her in to dig the balls in the back row. Because there are some liberos that are just way better at defense and not that great passers. As hard as that may believe there are some out there because honestly I'm a way better defender than I am a passer. So just because you are a great defender that doesn't automatically make you a good passer. Because part of passing is mental, it's not all skill and technique.

I completely think that the 2003 team with Kim, lily, nohea, lauren, maja, melissa, and karin r da best! I mean it was destiny dat they all came into UH. Maja took like 4 years to get into UH and luckly she took 4 years. Karin transfered. Nohea got preganent. Dave and charlie hand wrote letters to kim. lily got into kamehameha in high school and didn't eant to leave and she redshrited. Lauren visited Hawaii through out her childhood. ALso had family here. Melissa worked hard to convince dave that she wanted to be on the team. So its destiny. ;D
