Maybe USAV being proactive?

Another reason they skipped the MBO... They had planned to head over the AUS after the WUG event. A main draw in a top event like this trumps playing at home last weekend and being there already to train made travel less stressful.
USAV has always been supportive of C&H. Hopefully they will prove worthy and play their best.

Maybe USAV being proactive? Can see that, as they have the most potential (although Day/Hoochevar have some intriguing qualities). But isn't automatic entry into the Main Draw based purely on points and not on the National Governing Bodies? I can't even think of another time that US Women only had one main draw team.

1. C&H were given a Wild Card into the MD. 2. They go by team points, and Day/Hoch are a new team, that's why they aren't in the MD.

They were given a wild card into the main draw at the request of USAV. A number of FIVB events, including Klagenfurt, have two wild cards into the main draw. IIRC, one wild card goes to the national federation of the country in which the event is taking place, and the other is given to the local promoter to use at his/her discretion. Hannes (the guy who runs Klagenfurt) likes having U.S. teams at his event and agreed to give Claes/Hughes the WC.

Nice to see some new teams on the men's side. Is their a reason the Crabbs didn't play any International tournaments earlier in the year (other than the US one), and now have been in the last 2? Wish they would do most all of them.

So I have no idea how they seed for tournaments, but how do Carico and Ross not get into MD automatically? They seem like they have been around long enough and have at least broke pool more often than not. Same with Casebeer and Rosie?

I really hope the winner of the last AVP on the women's side can get out of a weak Q... Day/Hochevar lost the 1st set of their play in match. Dicello/Vanzwieten lost their 1st round match, everyone else made it to the 2nd round.

Looks like Casebeer/Rosie got destroyed in their CG against DOhert/Mayer. Hard team to figure out.

Looks like Casebeer/Rosie got destroyed in their CG against DOhert/Mayer. Hard team to figure out. Id say Doherty/Mayer are both good and Casebeer isn't explains it fairly well. Bloom off the rose a little. US women lookng good so far. One in and two stll alive!
