Not trying to speculate into the impending transfers at all, but looking at a possible glut for Texas next year. Micaya White and Lexi Sun on the left, Nwanebu on the right, and Ogbogu at Middle are darn near sure-things.
That leaves Yazzie BG, Orie Agbaji, Morgan Johnson, and Brionne Butler all to compete for ONE spot. Not saying the first three won't embrace the competition, but I wouldn't blame any of the three for wanting to be a key cog at another top program vs riding the bench at UT.

I think Yaazie goes back to pin and takes over for Ebony's role her senior year.

Lexi can pass, block, hit back row. What will happen is Micaya doesn't play back row with Sun there. Yazzie does not want to play middle, but the poor girl is not mobile, cannot play defense and cannot pass. She is not a left side hitter.

Lots of chatter already about Wisconsin picking up a good libero transfer for 2017. This sort of thing happens through the back channels during the volleyball season. It will become official only after the two teams end their seasons. Is there a coach more ruthless about poaching players off of other rosters than Sheffield? It seems a bit ridiculous that he went and stole a kid mid-season. Seriously? The coach, and certainly Sheff, can't and wouldn't approach a player. The player, parents, club coach or someone else would have spoken to staff before any more conversation. What's more, many players would give their sports bra to play for Sheff and the Badgers, or programs of their ilk. Sheff isn't chasing players who are currently in college...unless it's Ebony Nwanebu two years ago.

I think Yaazie goes back to pin and takes over for Ebony's role her senior year. With Sun and Butler's arrival and Chi's return there will be too many top quality players on the bench. This is the scenario I envision in my head for the 2017 season. Texas will start the season with a 6-2 Setters: Shook and Fisbeck Outside: Sun and White (both will play all the way around, we'll see how passing will hold up) Opposites: Ebony and Yaazie Middles: Chiaka and Butler/Morgan/Agbaji/Westerlund/Mirta Libero: Cat McCoy I think eventually Texas will go to a 5-1, but starting 6-2 at the beginning of the year allows some playing time for these players. I would hate for Yaazie to transfer as I see her replacing Ebony when she graduates. I agree with the sentiment that I think she's better on the RS than Left. I do think that our depth in the Middle may open the door for a transfer there.

Not sure if true, but I read elsewhere that Chiaka most likely won't be returning next year.
