I honestly believe she doesn't NEED to develop a slide (at least not for the M2 position on the national team). She does need to hit good 3 balls since Rachael Adams does both 1s and 3s (rarely slides).
Inky at M1 and Alhassan at M2 will be deadly for opposing teams a few years from now.

I really hope King gets more court time next season. She is such a great athlete and I would like to see her get more chances. The future could be super super bright for Florida if King gets involved and plays up to her potential to complement the next couple recruiting classes. This season went out with such a fizzle and I never thought Rhamat and Carli would go into their senior years without having played in a Final Four. I really hope they get one next season.

Hammons should help shore up the passing at Florida, but will Holston's replacement be sufficient? Joseph doesn't seem consistent enough to me, but idk if Wise is willing to move Kramer over either

For her to be as effective as possible at the next level (2020) she needs a slide. The M2s we've had in the last 2 games have been effective behind the setter (Adams in 16, Harmotto in 12). Alhassan has shown she can do it -- now it needs to be a focus area in her off-season training.

Joseph doesn't seem consistent enough to me, but idk if Wise is willing to move Kramer over either A lefty 6-rotation opposite is very hard to replace, even if you have a lefty waiting in the wings. Again, I think Kramer as a 6-8 wall on the right side is the best opportunity for Florida in the near term. I think Joseph is such a fun, energetic player, but I'm not sure brings enough to make up for Holston (in fact, I think I've liked her best as a MB -- she's quick and springy). You can't "coach size", and Kramer being more stationary on the right makes Florida more imposing. And as I said before, both middles only hitting 1s and the occasional 3 won't win them a championship (regional or otherwise!).

If Hammons can help them pass nails and man middle back, I'll take that as a Holston replacement!

Whatever ends up happening is going to be a consensus of all of their inputs. Wise was trying to give Joseph a chance to evolve her game for her international career but hurt the team this season because she simply isn't getting used to the adjustment in foot work arm swing and timing yet. When she actually approached at the right time and made decent contact at the ball in front of her, it wasn't that bad... it just didn't happen much yet. I wouldn't mind moving her back to the middle at some point personally unless she gets much better next season on the pin. REALLY what did us in was the passing breakdowns at the worst possible times, I'm really hoping our libero trains like crazy in the off season with the rest of the DS group.

I am being optimistic cause of the post game quotes by Knop. She sounded determined. She said it wouldn't happen again with the passing. It's not only her and the DS' but also Snyder who struggled in the closing three sets. I fully believe Florida has the talent to make Final Four but seem to underachieve. I would love to see them start the season strong and it will help they are hosting the Vert Challenge to open the season. If they can get those early season wins I believe they can win the SEC as I think the league will take a dip next year with Mizzou and A&M losing some players and other teams not really gaining much, Kentucky should be their only real hurdle. If they can garner a top 4 seed it will make the path to KC much easier.

2017 already feels like it could be what 2013 was. Chloe Mann and Ziva Recek were the offense and I feel like it's going to be the same way for Rhamat and Carli. If Hammons can put up Mallette type numbers from that year (2.41 kps) I think they'll be in good shape....that and as long as Joseph doesn't compound mistakes.

I don't think she will be a Holston, but I think she will be efficient enough and put up a better block. Joseph's natural position was always right side with a little middle thrown in there. I watched several of her Pan Am matches this past summer and she led Canada in scoring 90% of their matches. She did well on the right, and also attacking from behind the 10ft line in right back. (I am being overly optimistic so I don't get swallowed up in this year's disappointing outcome) But I hope this isn't a repeat of 2013... we lost SECs to Mizzou and got eliminated second round vs. FSU (deja vu, anyone?)

I am literally standing 3 feet away from Mary Wise in the McDonald's line at Midway Airport in Chicago right now, LOL.

McDonald's? Ugh. At least she had good taste in beer -- I saw her at First Magnitude Brewery after a match this season.

I didn't want to jinx it and bring up how that season ended. Her Pan Am matches do give me a little hope but I'm still cringing after this season. I'd like to see Rhamat speed up her arm swing to an Inky level but that's a lot to ask. The major issue for me is who will be redshirting next year. Some think King but that's one of the dumbest mistakes you can make.

I know this isn't 2017, but Mary Wise and Shannon Wells just posted a few of what appear to be recruiting videos on their twitter accounts. The videos say, "Who's Next?" and then pan to a city in the US. The cities in the videos are Eugene, OR, San Antonio, TX, and Orlando, FL. Anyone know about potential recruits from those cities?
