I haven’t played video games since early April. The only time I even physically touched the controller was to move the PS4 to another location in my “man cave” as I rearranged the furniture to make room for a piano keyboard.

After a long absence, Microsoft Flight Simulator is returning to the PC gaming market. This latest version is simply called "Microsoft Flight Simulator" and will be released on August 18th 2020. The base version has 20 planes. Its main selling point is supposedly an unsurpassed level of detail of global airports (37,000 in total), cities and landscape using Microsoft Bing maps.
While I am not a pilot or engineer myself, I did have connections to the aviation world work-wise, so this simulator does interest me. Anyone else here interested in buying one?

Had a moment of excitement and scare at the same time. Misread an advertisement for the Sony PS5 on China's JD.com (Chinese Amazon). Said something about delivery on 8/24, and I was like this was so sudden. Checked with the seller, and they said it was just a deposit. Not sure when it will be available yet.

going to play some more sekiro tonight. took a break yesterday good session tonight. beat two mini-bosses and one boss. I've not been playing many video games lately. I'm trying to learn python and django, which is providing all the computer-based stimulation I can handle.

good session tonight. beat two mini-bosses and one boss. I've not been playing many video games lately. I'm trying to learn python and django, which is providing all the computer-based stimulation I can handle. I had Friday off, so I spent pretty much all weekend playing Stellaris. I played the Floaty Balls again, and they are so OP it's not even funny. They nerfed machine empires with a major redesign that tends to leave them slow to expand and somewhat vulnerable in the early game, but as long as you don't get pounced on too soon they become an unstoppable juggernaut of economy. A typical Stellaris empire need to make food, energy, minerals, alloys, consumer goods, and "unity". Unity is for the perk tree. Alloys are for building warships and space stations. Food and consumer goods are to support your pops. Energy is currency (and most everything costs energy and consumer goods to keep operating). And minerals are for building everything that doesn't use alloys. Minerals also get refined into consumer goods, alloys, and other rare resources. Machine empires don't need food. And they don't need consumer goods. They only need to worry about energy and minerals. They can turn them into alloys without having to worry about making consumer goods. And they don't have to leave space for farms, so they can have more mines. As the economy grows, because they don't have to balance food and consumer goods, they can crank out a lot of alloys. Which means they can build a lot of ships. Once they get past their slow start, they have many economic advantages later in the game.

PSN has a "Hidden Gems" sale. Mostly indies, I think. Some look good. But right now, I just don't have the time to look into them in greater detail.
