I finished Ghost of Tsushima. The final battle with the Mongol commander was interesting. First, there was a duel in which I dispatched him easily with my overpowered build. But then, I had to chase him down to a ship where I had to fend off a bunch of Mongols and also deal with him (sort of a more traditional boss fight in games like this). I had used up all my resolve in the duel, but I still had access to my ghost weapons (bombs, kunai, etc.), and I used most of them to take him out. I then had one final quest dealing with the aftermath and a rather large decision to make, and then the credits rolled.
I have to say that this was an extremely good game. It's not quite perfect, but few games are. Aside from the over-abundance of enemy outposts, there really isn't much to complain about. The art direction, storytelling, atmosphere, exploration, voice acting, combat and music are all very good. There's still another couple of games I need to play to be sure (Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Wasteland 3), but as of now, I'd give it a 9.5 and my Game of the Year. And to be honest, a 9.5 actually might not be doing it justice. I may upgrade it to a 10 after I think about it some more (even though I said it wasn't perfect, that's doesn't necessary preclude a score of 10--The Last of Us has mediocre gameplay, but I still awarded it a 10). Either way, it's phenomenal. There is also a cooperative multiplayer mode that was added in October, and I look forward to checking that out and eventually doing a new game plus on Lethal difficulty.

I have liberated the entire island of Tsushima and done a few other things to get my third-ever Platinum trophy (the others are both Spiderman games--I'm really close in God of War, but there's one optional boss I wasn't quite able to beat--I should look back into that at some point). I was thinking about doing a new game plus on the lethal difficulty, but I think I'll wait until I get a PS5 at some point, so I can enjoy the game at 60fps. In the meantime, I'll check out the cooperative multiplayer mode, which was added to the game at no cost and basically unprompted.

HZD: I'm trying to finish off all the side quests and such before finishing the main game questline. I just got all the tallnecks and all the corruption zones completed. Then I decided to do the two cauldrons I still haven't done. (Overrides are less effective on quest missions than one might hope, because key machines are almost always corrupted or daemonic, so immune to overrides. But still...)
So I go to this cauldron I can see on my map and it has a bunch of stalkers outside. But I kill them and find the "secret" entrance. A few passages later and suddenly I realize I'm at the end. There was no maze, no gauntlet of machines, just the final fight. Which is against ... a thunderjaw. Damn. My usual strategy against thunderjaws is to snipe them from far away. Can't do that here.
So I set some blast wire traps and get ready to use tear arrows. I already know that my tear arrows will take out the disk launchers with one shot. So I get one of them while the platform is still lowering. I miss the other one, though. But my third shot gets it.
Then I'm just running and dodging and running and dodging and all of a sudden I see a disk launcher on the ground in front of me. Hah! I pick it up and wipe out the thunderjaw with only seven of the eight shots.
This was actually by far the easiest cauldron I have done, but partly that's because I now am level 55 and have some really good gear I picked up in banuk-land.
Supposedly the advice is to "ropecast" the thunderjaws, but I basically never use that ropecaster.

Terrible news! 😢 In a selfish manner, I hope he finished his work with the sequel.

I think I'd rather see a KOTOR 3 than a remake of the original, but I'll take it. KOTOR is one of the 10 or so best RPGs ever made in my opinion.

Get to immerse yourself in the Star Wars realm was awesome. Imagine with the graphics nowadays would make the remake amazing. Imagine they will release it in PC, PS4 and other consoles format.

I guess this is where I say that I find the "Star Wars" universe boring. I was 11 when Star Wars was released, and I loved it. Immersed myself in it like the Hobbit or Pern or any number of other stories I loved at that age.
But as an adult I see so many flaws in the Star Wars universe and so many ways it is a dumbed-down version of more complex and meaningful fictional milieus.

Have you played KOTOR II? It was unfortunately rushed, but with the Restored Content Mod, I think it's arguably as good as the original.
