Almost done with Shadow Tactics. I'm currently on the penultimate mission and I'm sure I'll be done with the game either later tonight or sometime tomorrow.
I had complained in a previous post that I could never get Desperados 3 for under $12.00. All of a sudden, it's available for $9.99!!! Ditto Tiny Tina's Wonderlands where I said I was waiting for to to drop to $14.99 and all of a sudden, it did.
I feel like someone at Sony is watching me. This is how sane people become paranoid. And how paranoid people become even worse with the confirmation.

Shadow Tactics Mission #12 -- Myogi Pass. I tried the wagon option but there was an inspection up ahead which f---ed everything up for me. There were two samurai. I can't remember if both did the inspection or only one. Anyway, I reloaded and am now doing the Aoki-disguise option instead. However, I thought about the wagon method and I probably could've taken out those two samurai inspecters with shadow mode. My characters would've taken some damage, I'm sure. Whether that would've ultimately worked, I don't know but I'll find out in my second playthrough after I finish this initial playthrough. And yes...I googled "Why the f-- did the game give me the wagon option if it's going to fail with the inspectors?" after my wagon attempt failed when we were caught by the inspectors. Also, I accidentally found the "light the bonfire" easter egg. Yuki was hiding behind some crates and then the "kill" prompt came up. In a panic, I pressed the kill button and the entire wall disappeared, revealing a small cave inside with a campfire/bonfire. (Apparently, this is a Dark Souls easter egg. I wouldn't know as I've never played a Dark Souls game.) I lit the bonfire (or it was lit for me automatically, can't remember). I assumed (falsely) that it could serve as a resting/hiding place for some of my characters while the other characters were busy. But alas...no...Hayato was spotted right outside the bonfire several minutes later. F--- me... LOL! You're supposed to hop out of the wagon when it makes an intermediate stop, before the inspection. I don't bother much with the wagon, though. The cliff route works. Yup, Dark Souls easter egg.

My relationship with Dark Souls is like my relationship with the Rubik's Cube. I recognize the skill and persistence required to speed-solve a cube or complete Dark Souls, but those aren't my kind of fun.

I used to be able to solve a Rubik's Cube in under a minute (my fastest time was about 45 seconds), but I have long forgotten how to do it.

I finally got back to Shadow Tactics and finished the mission where you have to reach the shogun's tent. When I was getting Aiko's disguise, I knocked out a civilian and hid them in a basket. I then decided to do the sleeping potion, but I realized that the civilian from earlier was the servant who was bringing the sake to the soldiers. Whoops. I got the badge anyway, since it unlocked as soon as I made the sleeping potion. I didn't really need to deal with the still-awake enemies anyway. There are two samurai watching the entrance to where the shogun's tent is. I used footprints to lure them and had Takuma shoot them. At the top, there are seven enemies, four stationary and three roaming. I got Aiko to stop the patrol in between two enemies, and then I had Takuma's sleeping grenade knock them all out while Hayato used his shuriken on one of the others and Yuki shot the final one. All that's left now is the final mission.

All that's left now is the final mission. If you watch carefully, you would see that not only does she serve the sake, but she takes a nip herself afterward. So she knocks herself out as well as all the soldiers. (If you leave her to it, that is.)

Then I stop the patrol, take out the victims, and than take the patrol with a triple kill. It is also possible, actually, to get into the Shogun's tent without killing any of them, but it is difficult because of Masaru.

Also, check this out.
Dude just walks everybody right up to the top, killing nobody. Shoots a few samurai just to slow them down or knock them out.

Shadow Tactics
Mission #12 (Myogi Pass) -- I was going to do the Aiko disguise (plus Takuma potion) but after I cleared everybody at the location just past the two samurai inspection point, I realized I could just get inside the green wagon -- and easily. This took me directly to the top. Getting into the Shogun's tent was complicated but Aiko's disguise (and killing spree) and Kuma's distraction were very useful.
Mission #13 -- I'm now on the final mission.

Yeah, if you get the first wagon to work, and get the disguise, the second wagon is pretty easy.

I did the final mission in Shadow Tactics in seven minutes, lol. It's actually pretty easy to sneak past the enemies and get to the shooting range where Aiko can use her sneezing powder to get one of the soldiers to accidentally shoot the traitor. I'll do the mission the normal way at a later time.

Shadow Tactics
I just remembered, in mission #12 (Myogi Pass), I had several questions (in my head) prior to doing the mission itself. I eventually answered all those questions -- some by accident -- by playing through the mission.
1. Can different characters enter the wagon at different times? The answer is "yes." I had Hayato (w/ Masaru) and Yuki get in first. Then, the wagon started moving so I couldn't get Takuma and Aiko inside. Hayato and Yuki got out near the Shogun's tent and waited in the dark. I waited for the wagon to make another pass. Takuma and Aiko then got in and rejoined Hayato and Yuki.
2. Did Hayato (w/ Masaru) have to enter the Shogun's tent first or last? Or did it not matter what order the characters went in? The answer: the order doesn't matter. Any character can go in at any time.
3. Can my characters be "detected" or found in the initial location where the mission started? The answer: yes. I was farting around with Yuki and triggered the guards to go hunting. Somehow they made it to the dark area where the group was huddled at the start of the mission and started shooting at everyone.
4. Can any of my characters stop the wagon from moving to allow the other characters to get inside? The answer: no. The wagon(s) will just run you over.

Here's how I rate the Desperados 3 characters on normal difficulty (i.e. who I would choose if all characters are available): 1. Isabelle 2. Hector 3. Doc 4. Kate 5. Cooper I think I might replay the game or at least certain missions at some point on hard or even the "Desperado" difficulty. I often find that playing a game on normal difficulty and playing it on the hardest difficulty results in completely changing my tactics and shifting my opinions on characters, abilities and weapons. That said, I think Cooper's deficiencies would be even more pronounced on a difficulty with less forgiving stealth mechanics. After beating the game and the DLC on desperado difficulty, my character rankings are mostly unchanged. Isabelle and Hector are even better than I realized due to each having a game-breaking exploit. With Hector, it's the ability to toss tied-up enemies to lure ponchos. With Isabelle, she can connect herself to an enemy (with the exception of long coats) and then allow the enemy to shoot her. This will kill the enemy and not raise the alarm. Isabelle can then use her unlimited healing power to get the one health that she lost back. She can do this seemingly as much as she wants. I avoided using these exploits except on the stupid Baton Rouge mission with no weapons where I did use the Hector one. i didn't use the Isabelle one at all except for testing. Some other observations and changes of opinion from the first playthrough to the second: -Isabelle's cat is better than I initially thought because of her ability to get into position while in showdown mode. Once she's in position, Isabelle can retreat beyond the normal range of the ability, but it will still work upon executing the showdown. The distraction length is also a second longer than Cooper's coin. So I think it's the better distraction in most situations. As for her other abilities, connect and mind control were just as good as they were the first time. -Some of Hector's abilities seemed a bit more limited on desperado difficulty. I didn't have many opportunities to use his shotgun, and there were quite a few situations where his trap and whistle weren't good enough. Some of this is probably since I just played Shadow Tactics, and Yuki's trap is just a lot better due to her ability to change levels much easier. All that said, Hector is still a powerhouse and normally led the team in takedowns. Whistle is usually good to remove at least a couple enemies, and the shotgun is a nice option to have for certain situations that would be tricky otherwise. -Kate in a disguise is even better than I initially thought. I hadn't realized how excellent her lure was the first time I played. Her perfume is also the best distraction in the game for ponchos and long coats because it works for the full four seconds on all enemy types. Her quiet pistol is also really good in some situations where it's just about the only way to take out an enemy without setting off an alarm, especially if Doc isn't around. -Doc performed about the same as before. His sniping is excellent for dealing with tricky enemies, and his bag is good for thinning out groups of enemies. It has additional utility when combined with another lure like Hector's whistle. Both he and Kate are excellent for hiding bodies stealthily, which is more important on desperado difficulty with less margin for error. Hector is still the best for hiding one or two bodies as quickly as possible. -Cooper is about the same. His throwing knife is good for saving ammo, even if it's a bit harder to use than you might expect due to both a loud noise radius around the target and a fairly long dying animation. He's very similar to Hayato in Shadow Tactics, and he theoretically should be better due to his double guns. But I found Hayato to be more useful, particularly his shuriken. I think it probably has to do with the enemy placement in the two games. There seemed to be more opportunities to safely use Hayato's shuriken in Shadow Tactics than there were to use Cooper's knife in Desperados 3.

That has happened to me too, when they found my footprints and followed them.
