Shadow Tactics This prison mission (mission #10) on Mt. Tsuru has so far been the hardest. I shouldn't have released Takuma so early because his mere existence has caused me some headaches when he gets spotted repeatedly even though he's crouched in some out of the way place or inside a bush. The knock-out feature is really annoying. Those soldiers eventually wake up and resume their positions. Whenever possible, I've been trying to throw all the unconscious bodies over the cliff so that they'd be gone forever. I had one difficulty with a straw hat sniper on the second floor balcony of a building though. Even though I knocked him out, I couldn't carry/drag him somewhere safely enough so I can dump him over some cliff. Got killed multiple times. Takuma is good against snipers. If it's the one I'm thinking of, Yuki can kill him too. I assume you killed the samurai and got her knife back? The only way to do that, I think, is to have Takuma shoot him, and then Hayato dumps him over a cliff. The knife remains where he was shot.

I rescued Yuki first by having Takuma shoot the mechanism holding her cage in place, which dropped it down and broke it so she could escape. I then had Takuma shoot the samurai, and I think Yuki just got back the knife immediately when she went to finish him off.

In Desperados 3, all the characters except Kate can tie up unconscious enemies, which is really nice because you don't have to worry about them getting up on their own. And Kate can hold them in place or drag them elsewhere, and then you can drop them and have one of your other characters tie them up. Edit: also, Takuma shouldn't be getting spotted if he's in a bush unless he's standing up or the enemies are on alert. If you just stash him in a bush and don't set off any alarms or cause the enemies to start looking in the bush for some reason, he should remain undetected.

I'm still doing this final DLC mission in Desperados 3. Even though I figured out how to sneak everyone into the fortress, I ended up clearing out the enemies in front and using the cannon to blow open the door anyway. Once the enemies on the walls were gone (I thought about having Cooper come help because he can climb vines too, but Isabelle was able to solo it), it was way easier to take out the others. At this next section, there are three ponchos that are all looking at each other, as well as a long coat patrolling back and forth. This is the kind of situation where Isabelle is invaluable. She gets five uses of mind control in this mission because there is an ammo box with two uses to go with her starting three. I guess I could try to connect two of the ponchos with Isabelle and have Kate perfume the other one while I take the two down. That might work. If not, then I will use mind control here. I haven't had to use it yet.
Edit: connecting the two ponchos and perfuming the other one worked like a charm. So I still haven't had to use mind control, and I just got to the last part. I have to get through about 20 enemies to make my escape, and Isabelle has all five of her mind control uses left. In other words, this is going to be fun.

I finished the DLC for Desperados 3. The final mission is the longest in the game, even longer than the final mission of the main story. It was pretty fun. As annoyed as I was to start with only Cooper, breaking it up into sections (rescue Hector, rescue Kate, rescue Isabelle, get Kate's disguise, breach the fortress, rescue Doc and get to the treasure, escape with the money) made it feel less long than I would have expected. In the final section, I used mind control three times, and that was more than enough. The last cutscene was pretty amusing, particularly Doc's final line, which was hilarious.
Hector had a whopping 83 takedowns (81 kills and two non-lethal takedowns). Kate actually had the second most with 24, as she was extremely useful for knocking out unsuspecting enemies and dragging them into a bush where someone else could tie them up. She also lured a fair number of those enemies out of sight. Isabelle and Cooper tied for third with 13 (Cooper is compulsory for the first several), but I'm pretty sure the game is undercounting the mind control kills. Her three mind control uses eliminated three enemies each (the two connected enemies that got shot and the mind controlled enemy that immediately got shot by the other enemies), but I think it only counts for one. She would also get a lot of assists (via connect) on other characters' takedowns if this was scored like hockey. Finally, Doc brought up the rear with just one. But in fairness, you don't rescue him until there are hardly any enemies left anyway.

Gratuitous cruelty in the Old West:
I'm replaying the bridge mission. There is a badge for killing five guards in the bridge collapse. I believe the intended way to do this is to sneak past the guards on the bridge rather than killing them. That leaves them there to die when the bridge collapses.
What I have done, though, is to knock out the seven guards in the next area past the bridge, and drag their tied up bodies onto the bridge that I fully intend to blow up later. We'll see if this counts for the badge.

Shadow Tactics
Mission #10 (Tsuru prison) -- Having Aiko made it really easy to escape the prison. There were two places I used shadow mode but I didn't think they were necessary. It was just for fun.
Mission #11 (Matsuyama City) -- Getting to the harbor area and eavesdropping on the two samurai were kinda easy. I'm now on the little island. Aiko has been on a killing spree with her disguise, killing all the guards in sight and any other guards storming in to investigate. I didn't do an actual count but I feel like Aiko killed 15-20 guards. The whole place is littered with dead bodies. I should finish the mission later tonight.

Eagle Falls mission done.
I guess I never had gotten the dynamite from the shooting range before. This time I did.
First I cleared out every guard except those actually in the shooting range and blasting pit and the lower area by the bridge. (I did take out the two high snipers from the blasting pit.) Except the ones actually inside the sawmill. Those can be completely ignored.
I got the badge for killing 3 guards with the falling logs (actually got four of them).
Then I couldn't figure out a stealthy way to break the web of people looking at each other in the shooting range, but there is a snipe tower overlooking it. So Doc went up there and sniped a poncho. Everyone got all excited, but apparently that area has no reinforcing guards. So easy-peasy, Doc sniped another poncho. Again they all ran around a little, but gave up. That let me sneak Cooper in to get one and then another guard. That left the longcoat and the two practicing shooting. Doc sniped the longcoat and Cooper stabbed him. Then Doc and Cooper did a double kill on the two shooters. Doc picked the lock and I got the badge.
Then I went back to the blasting area and once again didn't bother with carefully dismantling the net of watching guards. There are three that are important (two ponchos and a woman, so Kate can't lead any of them away). Doc sniped all three, one after another. That area does have reinforcements, but it was easy to get Kate to distract them and keep them out of the way. I waited until the remaining guards were gathered around the dynamite, then Cooper pressed the plunger. And I got another badge for blowing up a sufficient number of them in an explosion. Then I took out the reinforcing guards that Kate was still distracting.
So all that was left was to blow up the bridge. One by one I killed every guard down in the bridge area except the one who was going to die anyway when it blew up. Then BOOM!
It was easy at that point to kill all the guards who run in to get between you and the train. There were no longcoats and no women, so Kate had total control of them.
Finally, even though I had already killed everyone in the train yard area, somehow they were all alive again. Or replaced. Whatever. Only one woman, and no longcoats, so again Kate did almost all the hard work. I never controlled Hector at all, except to have him get on board the train.
Even with all the shooting, there is so much ammo scattered around that map that I left with everybody topped up and still available ammo in crates I could have grabbed.

Playing the next mission, one of my least favorites, the one where you have no weapons. But I don't think I ever realized the potential chain reaction possibility of the cows.
Hector knocked out and tied up a dude, then tossed him in front of a cow. Meanwhile Cooper was hiding nearby. Somebody saw the tied up guy, and came to investigate. Coin, cow, dead. Then somebody else saw it. Came to investigate. Coin. Cow. Dead.
I think I'll see if I can lure anyone else to this deadly, deadly cow.

Well, the most deaths I chained together with one cow was three. Almost got 4 out of that cow. I did get the badge for killing six guards. (I think my actual total was 8.)
While I was watching the replay I noticed that "Rosie", the sheriff's woman who Hector apparently slept with, sneaks off the map just before the mission ends. IIRC, she is the same Rosie who leads Hector into trouble in the DLC.

Yeah, I think I killed about four enemies with a cow or bull when I did the mission on desperado difficulty. I think it must have been a different one, since I didn't use Hector to throw a tied up enemy in front of the cow. The first enemy was already positioned in front of the cow, so I Just threw the coin to have the cow take him out. And then another enemy would come to investigate, leading to another goring after throwing the coin. Etc.

Shadow Tactics
Mission #11 -- I managed to knock out Masaru and kidnap him onto the boat. This was actually a relatively easy mission. I had to use shadow mode a few times to get it done but it was mostly straightforward. Plus, I had a blast with Aiko's killing spree.
Mission #12 -- Myogi Pass. I tried the wagon option but there was an inspection up ahead which f---ed everything up for me. There were two samurai. I can't remember if both did the inspection or only one. Anyway, I reloaded and am now doing the Aoki-disguise option instead. However, I thought about the wagon method and I probably could've taken out those two samurai inspecters with shadow mode. My characters would've taken some damage, I'm sure. Whether that would've ultimately worked, I don't know but I'll find out in my second playthrough after I finish this initial playthrough.
And yes...I googled "Why the f-- did the game give me the wagon option if it's going to fail with the inspectors?" after my wagon attempt failed when we were caught by the inspectors.
Also, I accidentally found the "light the bonfire" easter egg. Yuki was hiding behind some crates and then the "kill" prompt came up. In a panic, I pressed the kill button and the entire wall disappeared, revealing a small cave inside with a campfire/bonfire. (Apparently, this is a Dark Souls easter egg. I wouldn't know as I've never played a Dark Souls game.) I lit the bonfire (or it was lit for me automatically, can't remember). I assumed (falsely) that it could serve as a resting/hiding place for some of my characters while the other characters were busy. But alas...no...Hayato was spotted right outside the bonfire several minutes later. F--- me... LOL!
