So FAU ones only point, FIU gets the three needed, all 3 set matches? Wow.. Do we agree FIU kind of edges ahead of SCU, since we sort of assumed LSU is/was E2? Still can't see TCU coming out ahead of FIU, SCU

FIU Vs TCU RegRec TCU 9-2; 82% FIU 18-8; 69% SOS No patience/data to calc but Vs ranked opponents TCU 3-7 & FIU 3-8; advantage TCU?? Head to Head: TCU beat FIU Common Opponents: FIU as they beat AZ & TCU lost to AZ Overall Record: TCU 18-8; 69% FIU 19-13; 59% So I see it as TCU in every category but one. TCU should get it unless FIU wins today Vs FSU then I would have to redo all the numbers. Looking at the same comparisons for FIU/SCU and TCU/SCU, SCU won’t get it done. Play ball!

Its great that there is some excitement about the championship tournament, imagine what it ill be like 5 years from now. The west coast has the teams to beat, but it will be a fun event to watch.

Ovrec and RegRec also include significant wins and losses, not just win % Look at my prior comparison on page 4 Also, TCU is 16-8 overall, JuCo and NAIA do not count. FIU is 23-15 overall and 21-9 in region.

Barring any stunning upsets next weekend, who's going to the tournament? From the west it should be USC, UCLA, and Pepperdine. From the east I see Florida State, LSU, and Georgia State. At large should be Long Beach State and Hawaii. Am I wrong? This years winner will probably be USC, but both UCLA and Florida State could upset.

No way GSU gets in, imo, and if you are SCU, you simply can't lose to Tulane when it matters. I'm not big on what someone does first or second game of the year. So much changes. I put GSU in with FAU, which is out (FAU beat GSU twice this year anyway). Down to FIU and maybe TCU will looked at hard by the committee. All others will go accordingly.

Could be right. Do you see anyone getting past USC? Do you think anyone from the east will beat Florida State?

SCarolina coaches and players are probably going to really regret the loss to Tulane. If they win that match they eliminate FIU and probably lock up a NCAA bid even if they lose in the semis. Instead of padding their record with an easy win, they pick up another loss, a bad loss at that; and give FIU another chance which they grab and run with. Besides an extra loss, it also hurts in common opponents and SOS, plus they miss out on the opportunity to beat LSU again. The loss to Tulane actually hurts South Carolina in four of the criteria categories. I will be surprised if they still are in the running for a bid. I will compare the criteria for TCU, South Carolina, and FIU tomorrow. P. S. You are correct that GSU is out of the East bid number three hunt. They did not improve their resume at all this weekend.

South Carolina really threw out any chances with that loss to Tulane. Because that loss to Tulane was a bad loss for South Carolina, does FIU losing to South Carolina 3 times this year hurt FIU's tournament resume?

I looked at the #'s vs's TOP10 and it really gets interesting. USC is 4/7, FIU is 3/10, and TCU is 2/7. I guess you can cherry pick stats but I've seen all 3 teams play and I would take South Carolina's team all day long. They sure picked a bad time to lay an egg coming off a hard 3-2 loss to Fla. St.

St. They don't look at wins over AVCA ranked opponents. They look at wins versus teams qualified and wins/losses versus teams under consideration. And other "bad" losses. Note that FIU is the only team of the three with a win over someone in the tournament field LSU. That could be a deciding factor. Not sure exactly how many or which teams will be "under consideration". That is at committee discretion. My guess is TCU, FIU, SCarolina, FAU and Stetson. But they might include GSU.
