Some of the best do not touch ten feet… Haleigh Nelson
While many of the players across the net can touch 10 feet, 6 inches or better when they jump, Nelson has topped out at 9-11½.
“I have never touched 10 feet,” she said. “Every year I jump and I touch 9-11½. I really want to hit 10 feet before I graduate. It’s just a little personal thing.”
Whether or not she ever hits that mark is irrelevant to Sheffield. He’ll take Nelson over any of those high flyers.

Duello can get up. She's just not a fast mover or jumper. I always hoped and thought it was because she gets tentative. That could still be the case but not sure. She may not have the fast twitch muscles.
Out of system she is not comfortable getting up and going after a ball. But if you see her on the block (in photos or live) her armpits are at the net. She can jump.
There's is a difference between playing high and being able to touch high.
Nelson has a great arm, reads the game very well and is a much better athlete than given credit for.
I don't think this Badger team needs a drastically different line up, what they need is some determination, confidence and attitude.

I don’t really care for either program but Nebraska sure has a balanced team. I didn’t expect them to be so good after losing the Rolfzen twins and their fantastic libero, Wong-Orantes, but they’re looking better than last year. The setter was apparently out with an injury when they lost at the beginning of the season, but she seems to be playing at a new level for them this year. Michaela Foecke is actually the one player on their team that I haven’t been too impressed with this year, and I thought she would be dominating this season for Nebraska. You would think that as a junior she would have diversified her shot selections by now, but she still relies a lot on crushing balls. Nebraska does become fallible when their passing is off, which unfortunately doesn’t happen too often.
On the other side of the net, at 2-4 in the conference season, Wisconsin needs Gillis and Duello to play flawlessly in order for them to prove that at least one of them deserves to be on the court. Sheffield’s steal of Clark from Michigan with immediate eligibility to play still doesn’t sit right with me. Her example has created chaos in some circles with the grave concern that precedence may have been set to allow players in this sport to transfer within the conference without penalty. Was looking forward to seeing Dodge at libero this season, but Clark’s arrival ensured that wouldn’t happen. Badgers also must serve aggressively if they want to challenge the Cornhuskers.

Has it been announced as a sell out yet ?? I imagine the venerable old UW field-house will be packed to the rafters and loud enough to register on the nearest Richter Scale. All Badger matches for the rest of the season are sold out. Be aware that with the upper deck closed, sold out capacity is 6012. That's ticket sales. I'm not sure what actual turnstile will be, given that it's a late-start weeknight match. I know they're doing giveaways to beef up the student crowd. So we'll see. ? Why is the upper deck closed

This is a match that I would love to see in person. I'm making my first trip to a Wisconsin match. Looking forward to some exciting play. Please... wear a hat with your VT name on it so we know what you look like. Bold letters would be great. : D Im actually jealous, hope you have a good time. GO BIG RED !!!!

We didn’t play well a week and a half ago. I’ll be very surprised if we don’t play quite a bit better this go ‘round! A lot here have mentioned the crowd advantage for Wisconsin but I didn’t see any advantage for them whatsoever when they lost to Minnesota recently.
The crowd won’t faze our group very much. We went into a hornet’s nest at Penn St and I was very impressed with our focus and composure in shutting out a good Penn St squad.

? Why is the upper deck closed Doesn't meet code anymore. Wow, is it structurally unsound? What would capacity be if it were open?
