[Are the players different in Nebraska then they are Florida There’s probably a chunk of really solid players just below the UF/FSU/Miami level that want to stay in Florida and show those teams what they missed out on. A chip on the shoulder type motivation. I’m not sure Frost is going to be able to pull as many of those types of players, or if anyone other than Saban, Meyer, etc type coaches could pull off that type of national recruiting. The flip side argument is looking at how successful someone like Bret Bielema was at Wisconsin, yet he couldn’t duplicate that at Arkansas. Different players, trying to fit them into a Wisconsin mold, and it (not surprisingly) didn’t work.

Though Nebraska still recruits pretty decently. Not well enough to really be in contention to go to the playoff or anything like that. But they should be better than the 15-30 record that Frost has produced in his tenure.

Game against North Dakota was tied at 7 at halftime, definitely not good when it’s an FCS team. But then again it’s usually in the second half when FCS schools start showing their lack of depth.

Braelon Allen can’t wait to shred that defense. If North Dakota is running up the gut like that… watch out.

Well, Nebraska didn't lose, but they also didn't look very good. I think if Frost still wants to be employed on October 2, he has to beat Oklahoma.

So… fired by tomorrow, or will they wait until Monday? I used to work (as a contractor) at Georgia Southern in the early 2000’s. It’s crazy to think that a team from podunk Stateboro would ever knock off Nebraska, but here we are.

Nebraska wants to wait until 10/1 to fire Frost, because that’s when his buyout price is cut in half (IIRC). But there’s going to be a lot of pressure on Trev Alberts to make a move now.

Maybe the other wins by Sun Belt teams today take a little pressure off. Any other weekend, a loss to GSU would probably be a firable offense.

Frost's buyout drops from $15 million to $7.5 million on that date.

It will be interesting. I think firing Frost now would be pretty rash. The time to eat the buyout rather than let him coach anymore was in December. Since they didn't make the move at that point, and the season is over anyway, they may as well wait until October 1. But we'll see.

May be Frost really wants his buyout now and is doing everything he can to make Nebraska pay it. 😁

He lost to Troy in 2018, which was one of the worst losses in program history. I think GSU will be decent, but this is up there with another humiliating loss for the program.

At this point, his entire tenure has been an embarrassment, right? I believe he's now 16-31 and 5-22 in one-score games.

I just became aware of the existence of this thread today and just finished reading it in its entirety and seeing how it progressed through Frost’s tenure is really something lol but really sums it up…..so much hype coming in…always kept the games close enough to keep his job because you feel it’s about turn around but never actually broke through…..it’s almost like Nebraska’s games under Frost are now scripted, you just know how it’s going to play out lol
I guess the only question left is whether they’ll actually wait till October to fire him or will the pressure from the fan base to act be too much to wait?
