I meant in the future. He has no daughters left that he'll try to get on the court right away.

And I remember all the (she can't do it) talk that Fien got from the fans; lets give Atherton a chance and see what Hames bring to the table! Honestly; sometime we get way ahead of ourselves!!! I also remember all the crap that Mary got; but it got Neb a NC this season!
GO HUSKERS

See.... I don't believe it's all that clear. I think our coaching staff does a great job in not just coaching but also teaching, and helping players get to their highest level of competency. Again... I will use Fien as an example. Melissa Elmer is another player who improved drastically while she was here. I guess I just see Atherton having been in Lincoln for almost two years now in August she was clearly not at the level a Nebraska setter or back up needs to be. For a Fab 50 recruit she was clearly in over her head. Can she improve yes, I just expected more out of her having trained with the staff for as much time as she did to that point. When Szabo got playing time she was good, but when Sweet struggled Szabo sat. What was clear was that Sweet wasn't coming out and I have no problems with Sweet. I'm just saying if I'm Szabo, do I want to sit my whole college career? Kelsey Fien was the ultimate team player and Szabo may indeed be that as well. You remember there were many years when kids only played two years, trained for two then it was their time, those days are mostly over for the college athlete of today, they want to play. Not knowing which players are on Full 4's or just partials IMO will figure more into staying than 'playing time'. I think already having a NC Ring makes it easier. - See Brooke Smith.

Atherton is not THAT bad as a setter. But, I don't see her sidelining Nicklin Hames. Who knows.... NEB may start with a 6-2 next season, but will evolve to the 5-1 by conference play. Lot's in the air right now!

we had the same discussion last year at this time wondering how on earth the Huskers were going to compete. How great did that turn out to be? Fun Times.

Lot's in the air right now! Right now Hames has 0 experience in leading the Huskers! Cook will evaluate the players during practices. He will decide what is right for opening day; and throughout the year! Hunter is a good server; so I am sure she will see playing time! GO HUSKERS

GO HUSKERS Hunter is equally likely to serve one into the band as she is to land one in the 30x30 square on the other side of the net. I wouldn't classify that as good serving. When she can be more consistent in keeping it between the lines then we can talk.

How would you know that since you just registered in December of this year. Someone has multiple accounts?

The criticism toward Mary’s setting was warranted, IMO.

Big runs were made on Hunters serve and her placement was pretty impressive in matching Johns requests.

Some serves are very good and tough to handle but she can’t keep half of them inbounds. She was bad enough that she was replaced by Densberger but Densberger was even worse. If Hunter can clean up her consistency issues, she will be a very effective server. I would be willing to bet that she improves next year in this regard!

Admittedly, the overall strengths of the 2017 team cushioned such risks.

Densberger was better at keeping her serve in play...but not better at getting teams out of system.
