Hey Nebraska fans. Just felt it was necessary to come over and and tell you that your team helped put on a incredible show tonight. Nothing but respect for that. I came on ready to take my bashing as Stanford in the end figured out a way to pull it out. I know I play my part and am not as big into volleyball as most here probably but I feel it’s important to note if people want the sport to grow it’s matches like the one tonight with the heart and grit showed from both teams that will help sport gain more popularity nation wide. I know your proud of your team tonight as u should be. Something interesting happened in tonight’s match. I found myself rooting for mikalea. How could you not. The most surprising thing to me about tonight’s match wasn’t what I expected. Watching Mikalea play and who she is I believe made me a better person even if it was only by a little bit just seeing her and what she brings and has accomplished. So as the night comes to a close I would just like to say for what it’s worth Nebraska has earned my utmost respect. May not like them, def will continue to fight with them in future seasons but tonight I just wanted to be real and show the respect a match like tonight deserves. The boof.

I remember when me and my mom were talking about who's the best husker player of all time and I keep saying Pavan. My reason was she was so dominant in the net. Only the 4 time First Team AA from Nebraska. Won NFOY and NPOY. My mom who was a new husker fan keeps saying Foecke and Larson in a close 2nd. But man watching Foecke this year and the past 3 years. She's prolly the most clutch player that I have ever seen. She's not just a great player but was also a great leader. She carried this team and was producing kills when her team needed her the most. Watching her to evolve in a 6 rotation player was amazing to watch and I love the sound that the ball makes everytime she hits it. Plus 4 final four is just wow. Foecke is the GOAT and will be my favorite player all time! Found myself crying like a baby writing this

Mikaela Foecke finishes the tournament at 101-16-235 .362 and she may not have won MOP, but she deserved it.

Well, I think I'm about to sign off on this thread. Immensely proud of what this team accomplished this year and the players, coaches, and staff that continue to put together one of the best programs in the country. But as a Husker fan, a new season starts in five minutes. Can't wait.

Congrats on a great season Husker fans. Such a fantastic turn around this year....I never thought I'd see Nebraska get to this point midway through the Big Ten season. I've never been a Nebraska fan but found myself rooting hard for this crew. Foecke is the ultimate winner and goes down as the best Husker ever IMO. I know it's recent, but when you look at what she's accomplished over her 4 years and how she's consistently taken her game to another level with everything on the line...what more can you ask for. She also developed into an absolutely stellar back row player, server, blocker, etc. Just an absolute stud. Plus she's always seemed like a great teammate and is just so easy to root for. Hope she plays on the national team, I'll miss watching her at Nebraska.
I thought Nebraska played some of its best volleyball this weekend even if they couldn't take it home. Great things we saw include: 1. Foecke being an absolute monster in both matches. 2. Lexi Sun developing into a strong 6 rotation player. Hitting is still streaky and she has work to do but her passing and defense are drastically better. She also has become a much better server than she was at Texas. When you look at her numbers, you'd think she was doing better at Texas but I thought she made huge strides throughout the year and with a lot of hard work and dedication in the offseason can develop into a go to hitter. 3. Hames set a strong match tonight. Decision making was on point (aka ride Foecke and Stivrins). Strong attacking on 2, great tough attitude. So much better than she was at the start of the year. 4. Sweet played a lot better toward the end of the season. This weekend she had some good swings on the right and did a solid job blocking. 5. Cook's zone calling I thought was tremendous against Illinois. Didn't pay as close attention tonight, but his in game management of time outs and challenges are typically very strong. The fact that he was able to get this crew to 5 games against Stanford after climbing out of an 0-2 hole in the semis is remarkable. COY worthy season for him. 6. Maloney was tremendous as always. Underrated as a 3rd team AA. Hope she continues to play volleyball, she's a joy to watch. 7. Stivrins looking POY worthy this weekend. I felt like this was the Stivrins we were all waiting to see break out. She and Hames connected extremely well this weekend. I was one who didn't think she deserved 1st Team when it was announced, she proved all the haters wrong tonight. 8. Capri Davis was really good tonight coming in for Sweet. She also had a huge clutch swing in game 5 vs. Illinois. Impressive that a freshman can come in cold off the bench and take massive swings for her team. Reminded me a bit of when Darcy Dorton took some incredibly high pressure rips for Penn State in the 2009 championship game.
2019 season is a long ways away so make sure you take a moment and enjoy all that this crew accomplished before looking ahead to next season. Every fan/player/coach should hold their heads high and be proud, it was an incredible run for this team.

Not a Nebraska fan, but I loved watching this team.
As I have thought for about the past 4 years, Cook is the best serve and pass coach in the country. The pressure the Huskers consistently exert behind the line is impressive. I completely agree with the previous posted that Cook is a master at calling spots. Stanford had to work very hard most of the night. The fourth game locations and executions were fantastic.
If I were an outside hitter with national team aspirations, I would want to go to Nebraska. Year and after he gets his outsides to pass extremely. The growth Foecke has made from freshman year to now is very impressive. I honestly think she has the potential to be a good contributor for the national team.
Sun still has a ways to go, but she looks way better than last year. She also looks way happier. I think she is going to be very good in 2019.
Hames made very good choices all postseason. Her connection with Stivrins was pure fire. Hames is not as flashy as SSS or Carlini, but she makes smart decisions and is a very good defender. I think the only thing she needed to do a little more was to go over on 2 more often. That being said, Foecke and Stivrins did get a kill most of the time.
I don’t know what Nebraska has coming in, but I expect them back in 2019.
