That's what I was thinking I know we already play Illinois in B1G...but how about a tourney with Louisville, Kentucky, and Illinois? : ) For what it's worth, I don't recall teams coached by former Husker assistants playing us in the non-con. Some coaches have a rule against playing former assistants but I don't know if Cook does that or not. Edited to add: We have played Iowa State in the non-con since we left for the B1G. CJL was never a Husker assistant but was an assistant under Cook at Wisconsin. Kentucky and Georgia have both visited Lincoln in the recent past - both coached by former assistants.

I couldnt remember when those happened so had to look it up. Huskers best Kentucky 3-1 in 2012 at Ameritas Challenge. Huskers swept Georgia in 2013

Andie Hanus is apparently transferring out of Mizzou but no destination indicated on Transfers page.

What is everyones thoughts on Atherton... if Hames is going to start next season - her career will be as a backup. Can she be a DS/Server or does she look to transfer?

What is everyones thoughts on Atherton... if Hames is going to start next season - her career will be as a backup. Can she be a DS/Server or does she look to transfer? That all depends on her temperament. Some players are more accepting of having a role as a backup in a high level program, working hard to improve their abilities and possibly earning more court time. Kelsey Fien is a good example of that. Bridget Root is a different example who never played much but was a great teammate nevertheless. Hames is a terrific talent, but I am not assuming anything regarding who will be starting next fall. Atherton might surprise some people.

Going into this season she had been in Lincoln for a year and a half and still looked rough. Granted Tyler had only been there basically the summer. What happens with Szabo? Is she satisfied being a backup lefty to Sweet for three more years? Even when Sweet struggled she never came out so it's pretty clear Szabo isn't going to play much.

I don’t think there was a huge discrepancy in talent between Szabo and Sweet. There was a little gap in experience versus better competition and training though. Obviously that gap has widened considerably now that Jazz has a year under her belt. I would have liked to have seen Anezka redshirt. There’s no law against playing 2 lefties at the same time either if she’s good enough.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little curious about running a 6-2. :-D
