The Wahine got the third seed and will be playing Colorado in the first round. I think the Wahine got a great seed. I know they weren't worthy of getting the top seed even the second seed because this Wahine team just hasn't been tested by the top teams.
The shocking thing for me was Washington getting the seventh seed. And I really didn't think Penn State was going to get the second seed either. But the committee always comes up with surprises every year.

What is shocking is that Hawaii will play away in the first and second round. That is fine, but they have a potential second round match with Colorado State, ranked #9 in the nation? How do they get to host Hawaii and why are they not seeded?

Yeah that is shocking, but I don't think that it is a big deal that they are playing on the road in the 1st and 2nd round since Hawai`i is the farthest to travel. But yeah I have to agree with you that Colorado State should have been seeded, but like I said the committee does crazy things every year and these are some of them for this year.

It's fruitless to try to comprehend the method to their madness.

I think both Hawaii and Colorado State were screwed by the committee. I think that is the toughest of the 16 subregionals. It's amazing the CSU is supposedly an "unseeded" team, I guess the schedule must have been weak. Stanford got screwed too, they probably have to play Florida in the second round. Florida hasn't been on lately, but if they play well I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat Stanford.
I think Penn State and Minnesota have the easiest subregionals.

The answer to everything is: money. The NCAA doesn't want to pay for three teams flying to Hawaii. That is %$^%. If you are a top four seed and don't get to host a regional, you should host the first two rounds. Period. The Wahine deserve that as a reward for being undefeated. It just shows how cheap the NCAA is.

Hawaii is the only seed among the top 8 to not host a Regional or Subregional. Getting sent to Fort Collins to possibly play Colorado State will not be easy. Thank goodness they had a lot of experience playing at altitude last week.

The committee could have easily set the bracket to be easier than pitting 2 top 10 teams against each other in the second round.

this is hawaii's potential road to the Final Four: colorado (in colorado) colorado state (on their home court) wisconsin (in wisconsin) texas not an easy draw at all (especially cuz colo st will be pissed at being slighted by the selection committee) but i guess if they make it through they'll prove once and for all they can win big matches against tough teams on the road.

Penn State does have a pretty easy subregional but I guess it balances out by them having to potentially play Washington in the Regional Final. Tough road for the #2 seed. If Hawaii is able to reach the Final Four, hats off to them. That's a pretty tough region. I think Stanford has finally pulled itself together and should be capable of reaching the Regional Final despite the tough early draw. On other news, ugg, my Women of Troy drew top seed Nebraska as was my worst fear. But I guess USC would be lucky to even get to play Nebraska considering how Jekyl and Hyde they've been this season.

The seeding was very messed up. Hawaii did not deserve the top seed. Maybe 2. I'm glad they ended up where they were.
WASHINGTON #7? You are telling me that the Big-10 has three teams better than the Pac-10 champs? Its kind of a conspiracy. What conference does ESPN broadcast?
Any news on K5 broadcasting the first two rounds? I hope they put it online as well or did they stop doing that?

There is no problem with shipping a top seed some where else, but don't put them in a bracket with another top team. You are screwing both teams over. In this case Colorado State and Hawai`i are both deserving of getting past the second round and into the sweet 16, but with the brackets this season one team will be sent home early. Colorado State and Hawai`i shouldn't have the potential for meeting so early in the tournament just as Florida and Stanford shouldn't have the potential to meet so early into the tournament. But I guess this is a chance for the Wahine to silence all their critics. If they are able to knock off Colorado State early in the tournament then people will think twice about knocking off the Wahine, while if they lose then the critics will really come out and say that the Wahine are overrated. So I guess this will be the test for the Wahine to see if they are truly worthy of their number one ranking. If the Wahine are able to get through their region than their will be no questions as to if this Wahine team is for real or not and remember they'll be doing it on the road.

I think Stanford should have been in the top 10 but they just as well take out Texas, so at least they're not matched up against a top 4 seed. I can tell you that Washington has nothing at all to complain about. They are very very fortunate.

USC has an extremely tough draw, Stanford has a clear shot to the FF.
