So much fun, so glad I made the drive. My take aways:
Miller is looking good. Loved seeing her lateral movement. She has done a great job getting back to where she was.
Still have questions on the OH2...Abbey Dayton is definitely in that mix...if she can pass more consistently I think she will get playing time.
Liked the way W. Bower set the middles and Miller. Pretty sure she is our setter. The set from her knees game 3 to K. Eschenberg was my favorite plays.
Mary and M. Bower both had good energy and are likely the back row tandem. They seemed to work well togather. M. Bower seemed up and down-she played better as a lib then DS. I don't have a great read on G. Wee as it did not seem like they tested her much. I am glad we have her because our 6 rotation player passing was not good overall and I think we will need 2 DS players.
I think RS will be a dog fight and honestly have no idea how that will play out. Grimmers back row attacks game 3 where her only highlights.
M. Robison looked okay. It didnt seem like she got a lot of sets. I thought she passed better than Lyman or Dayton.
Just my thoughts!!!

Pretty much a season preview article from the Daily Herald. Overall, it's a pretty good article but not sure there is really any new info. I think Olmstead's confirmation that she's seriously considering a 6-2 at, at least at times, is new (although one probably should have inferred it from the blue/white scrimmage): Summer of international play leads BYU volleyball into 2019 season![](https://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/heraldextra.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/a/6f/a6ff93dd-8b9f-57cb-ba4b-68628813b563/5c0c96c79552b.image.jpg)

I won't be surprised to see just about anything tried at the setting position this year. Same with the pins.

I won't be surprised to see just about anything tried at the setting position this year. Same with the pins. Yeah, I agree. At the pins (at least as long as she's healthy enough) I expect that Miller (or is she going by Miller-Ah Sue now?) is the only one with a long leash and I don't think her left side pin will be experimented with (I don't think Olmstead will experiment with Miller on the RS even though I think she would be good there). Against Boise St, I kind of expect Miller, Ballard-Nixon, and Robinson at the pins to start*, but I bet we will see other pin combinations in the first match. For sure if they struggle, and maybe if they don't. * That's my best guess but it also wouldn't be shocking to see Miller, Dayton, and Grimes start (or some other combination).

Olmstead being willing to experiment with a 6-2 doesn't really surprise me. I'm fine with it at the beginning of the season, though I would hope that at some point, someone will step up and earn the job (I think having two setters is kind of like having two quarterbacks--it usually means you don't have any truly excellent ones), and they go back to a 5-1. My guess is that Bower will be the full-time setter by season's end, though it wouldn't surprise me if she isn't quite ready just yet. She's even younger than a regular true freshman, after all.

What have they been eating? Constipation rules. Yeah, and it usually doesn't afflict people that young. Diet must be really horrible.

Eshchenberg, Llarenas (McEwin), and some dudes playing middle.. No Gneiting 😕 Pretty sure Lake says it's Monday in the video; I don't think it's surprising Gneiting wouldn't practice on Monday even if the ankle tweak was mild. Now if she didn't practice today, that's worrisome.
